Thinking back on Makima. These two cases might suggest that there’s a running theme of extreme yearning for love and affection amongst the horsemen and each express their needs through different reflections extremely broken coping mechanisms.

Shes so perturbed from actually experiencing death by her own hand even though human suffering should be the best for her. In the end she just wants her family back and peace. Now we understand why she wanted no one to come and disrupt what they had.

Sometimes I forget that Reze is just evil man. She could’ve been a robot that just killed them efficiently and left but no, she played around with those guys just to make the killing more fun. She really is just a demon with a soft spot for Denji. BRING HER BACK.

Written so well people keep forgetting she’s a huge sociopath and a literal warmonger. Is closer to the center of the story than people think. Growing as a person and a character but incredibly resistant to it, obsessed with her past glory.

I think Fujimoto did a great job portraying Makima being just as unhinged as any obsessive fan. Here she is being obliterated again and again and she has this uncanny look of euphoria in her face.

Its kind of crazy how well Fujimoto portrayed Makima as this uncanny attempt at humanity. All of her expressions carry this haunting fakeness that was always unsettling yet most of us never realized she was a devil until much later.
yk i always make fun of her customer service smile but when she makes a poker face like this it's actually kinda scary

People will chill in due time. Theres alot to unpack this chapter. The shock value i feel is deliberate to further bury the undertones and it worked but speaks alot to the current state of the three. Im just happy Yoru isnt as 1 dimensional as i initially thought.

I like how this coloring accentuates how much of a celebration his arrival is, even when it most certainly means pure unadulterated violence with the confetti blood and guts. Fujimoto is a master of aesthetic 😌

My brother its WaWa. This is snacks and sandwiches nothing there is essential. People used to make whole meals with cheap vegetables and off cuts of meat and now people are acting a fool cause burgers are 10 or so bucks. No idea what hunger is.

There’s something to be said about Control and War finding strokes of humanity within them through human lenses while Famine remains detached, sticking out even amongst this cast of wierdos because theres not a single person in the group who can or wants to connect with her.

Frankly I disagree. They have little impact because it's not relatable. We all want a world without it but seeing a story that highlights the uglyness of it and even more, overcoming bigotry and ignorance will always hold more emotional weight than disjointed utopias.

Even when Yoru is at peak machiavellian, she stills seems like such a far cry from what she was at her debut. There was a dark and foreboding air around her and now, even knowing what she’s capable of, theres a lot more color to her than before. This is my favorite drug.

I desperately need Pochita’s point of view during all this. He didn’t have a speck of vengefulness or anger in him when Nayuta disappeared, when Denji was being cut up or even when his house burned down. It eerily reminded me of Cosmo when the other girls died, just 🙂

This part has had an interesting focus on the horsemen and them battling with identity crisis to varying degrees. Yoru is holding on to her past glory, Fami is seemingly growing attached to her human identity and Nayuta has left her past behind in exchange for love.

I have a feeling Fami knows Nayutas whereabouts but is keeping it to herself for whatever reason. She just seems to be following everyone else’s lead and waiting it out. Maybe she doesn’t want to risk losing Denji’s cooperation? So many questions around that queen.

This girl is 100% a devil or a fiend. Those eyes aren't the usual eyes Fujimoto uses for humans. Doubt its death since the pattern isn't at all like the other girls, and Yoshida is seemingly looking to kill The Death Devil, so i doubt it'd cooperate.
