I'm not against paying fees for older players (26+) so long as they are moderate, but wages have to be proportional to impact/role. If I wanted JH (currently, not) then wages would have to be modest i.e. not happening

I think if both finish the season well we'll sign Lindstrom + Alcaraz (possibly renegotiate fee on Lindstrom). Sell Beto, will raise a little for PSR should he score another 2-3 goals.

That won't actually go far, considering how many players are needed. I expect some loan w/option deals in there. Only player I'd extend currently is Gueye.

We've had 4 seasons now of injury +/or a lack of goals, time to move on + source a replacement. Not sure, but the model should be signing players age 19-24.

@wombat_combat @TheBlueFrontier I think he deserves at least 1 summer where he's not in a straitjacket. Too many slate the guy with no allowances made for the pitiful financial conditions he's operated under. We just hear "he signed x" or "y", with no context. The model of focusing on younger players is sound.

Handing out major money to those in their late-20s only justifiable if they are key players imo + I don't see him in that category any more.

@wombat_combat @TheGoodisonMole Oh yeah the days of splashing £20m+ fees on 27-29 year-old players + handing them 80, 90, 100k pw deals are hopefully over. I'm hoping we get in at least 2-3 loans w/option to buy in as it protects the club from flop signings to a degree.

It's a big part of the reason we got into such a big PSR mess. No, DCL has to go. His numbers don't justify a starting spot + he wants starting money. 2 things are incompatible.

After his early season injury, in 14 EPL games before Frank got sacked, he started 0, was a sub 8 times (98 mins total), didn't even make the bench twice (Isaac Price was on it instead of him for WHU game). Underutilized imo.
