the electricity in your walls comes from turbo generators rotating at around 3000RPM. “about”, because it drifts around a bit. the actual frequencies are logged in power-grid frequency databases which are available to the public online. you can often pick up the ~50Hz hum in the background of videos. you can perceive its flicker in LED lightbulbs. if you treat the drift of frequency as heard in a recording as a sort of “fingerprint”, and compare it to the values of power-grid frequency databases, you can actually pinpoint the time and location a video was taken.
