Harada Katsuhiro, the producer of Tekken, talked to the GM of Evo and the director of Evo2022. He said that he wanted Evo to bring back Smash and bring Sakurai san to Evo. I haven't watched the whole video and will watch it, but here's the link with a time stamp.

I asked my JP followers “Who are popular overseas players in Japan?", and there were some interesting replies!
Players who have nicknames:
Tweek: Tsui san
Dabuz: Daba chan
Glutonny: Gura san
MkLeo's comment on Tweek after Port Priority
"Tweek played really well. That excites me. I really wanna play him again. Cuz you know I gotta get my runback. I feel like Tweek winning makes me happy. At that same time, it motivates me cuz he’s my rival.

Context on "I'm Sparg0"
There's a meme in Japan where players say "I might be Sparg0" when they used Cloud and did well. They say "I might not be Sparg0" after losing. This meme was created by Tsu when he he started using Cloud and jokingly said his cloud is as good Sparg0's.
🚨For SSBU players who want to follow Japanese scenes
From now on, I will post a weekly schedule of smash tournaments in Japan. I can’t cover every single tournament, but will list the ones that notable players might attend.
See the following tweets for brackets and streams!
Ly and Noi were able to attend Super Smash Con because of the support from their sponsor, KINOTROPE. The CEO of the company wants to provide a new employment format to support e-sports players financially. Ly and Noi do normal tasks for the company from 11 am to 4 pm, then-

Kameme’s announcement:

On a personal note, I’ve been married, and we have been dating for 2 or 3 years, and our child was born in September. I didn’t have any intention to hide it, but I missed the timing due to multiple tournaments.

Marss: JP people like his negativity towards ZSS. His line “ZSS sucks. Enjoy your day!” translated to Japanese is VERY popular and used a lot as a meme in the JP smash communities.
Learn how to pronounce 55 Japanese Player Names!
@OMNaoto
, one of the best Smash commentators in Japan, teaches us how to pronounce 55 Japanese player names! I’m really thankful for him helping out with this.
See below to watch the clips with audio!
Yoshidora's thoughts about traveling abroad:
“There are still many tournaments overseas. If I ever get invited again, I’m willing to attend it. I’ll take PTO cuz I cancelled the PTO I took for SWT, so I can use it for a different tournament. (He took 10 days of PTO)”
zackray's post after Kagaribi
"I don't have motivation for Smash compared to before. That hasn't changed, but I can't forget the vibe and the tension of tournaments. That's why I wouldn't even think about quitting. "
Shogun is making an amazing documentary series on the competitive Japanese Smash scene. I'm honored to have this opportunity to add English subtitles.
He posted an announcement video where he briefly talked about this project.

Banning Steve is just asking for Japan to keep on being better than us. Really cringe that a lot of tristate stuff is banning Steve, I heavily dislike this baby additude.
Knew the day was gonna come eventually:p props to acola for beating me even at my peak, I could def tell he prepared a lot for this.
Wish I did better but 3rd place is still very good ! I'm not too upset about it because I played out of my mind and now I at least know that I
Yoshidora confirmed that he's going to tournaments overseas in May and August. He said that the tournaments haven't announced his invitation yet, but they might soon.

Tweek: Tweek Talks is translated almost every week, and they enjoy getting to know Tweek’s personality.
MPg: After Apex, people liked his sportsmanship, and they talked about how nice he was to あcola at Let’s make moves Miami on the JP re-stream of Apex.
Thank you longo and all the people that have answered to this tweet. You guys dont know how much i appreciate the fact that you all get more mad/sad than me for this.
All i can say is that i dont really care about this.
Im just not who you guys think i am.
Where do i start...
The two commentators OMNaoto and Tsuttsun thanked Sparg0 after his set against Acola. The Japanese Smash scene is always appreciative when overseas players travel to Japan to compete and they're super welcoming. That's what I love about them;))
With Maister and Mkleo canceled, kowloon is looking like a Japan takeover... who was left America asked? Who could be so brave and willing to save the already fallen reputation from the rest of the world?
Unfortunately, it came down to the worst and most unreliable player: me
Damn, there was a LOT of response to the NA ranking ladder idea I suggested, so some answers here:
1. I’d like for this to be collaborative, open-source.
Work with the people who have been grinding this - programmers, algorithm makers, front and back end - and get them paid!
This is one of my most favorite Shogun videos besides his Smash documentary series lol It's the video where they guess when Light rolls up his sleeves. There were some funny moments where they were like " I think he just took a deep breath here..." and they called it "recharge"-
Kaninabe: "Light followed me back. Will do my best at Kagaribi."
Asimo: "He didn't follow me back."
Kaninabe: "This is the difference between you and me."
Light followed Asimo back.
Asimo: "I love you."
they practice after that. They can attend tournaments as part of their work. Their travel fees are covered, and they receive travel allowance. In this way, they don't have to worry about making living expenses, and they can continue to play the game for a long time.

First Supermajor win for Guatemala, Centralamerica, Pikachu and myself.
Thank you so so much to everyone supporting me, you have no idea what it means to me.
Dedicated especially to my grandma Ina, who got me Smash as a child, hope she’s proud.
I’m your S Factor 11 Champion!!
I'm seeing posts about ShinyMark in Japanese because of his win last weekend. And I noticed they call him "Shanima." Japanese people are clever about coming up with nicknames lol
other nicknames in Japan: Gura san (Glutonny), Tsui san (Tweek), Daba chan (Dabuz)

"It's kinda difficult to reply in English because of translation stuff, but I hope you don't get affected for tomorrow. I want you to not worry and just want you to have fun and play. We're in the same bracket so it might sound weird though... 1/2
I really did try, but competing today has unfortunately reinforced my decision to make this my last Ultimate tournament. My heart just just isn't in this anymore. I tried everything I could over the last 1.5 years to change how I feel and nothing has worked.
I still love

My wife is understandable, and I’m going to attend tournaments in Japan and overseas as much as I can , so please keep me in the loop of tournaments via DM as always.
I’m sorry for the sudden announcement. I hope you can continue to support me.

Cute story from kept and Paseriman's podcast
When Paseriman went to France for Wanted, He, Tea, Asimo, and Kameme went to a theme park. Paseriman is not good with rollercoasters, so he was holding Tea's hands at first, however, he was holding his hand so hard that Tea told--
