I have covered a LOT of elections. The results are never perfect. There is always some human or machine error. I have never experienced a board not certifying an election.
I'm not sure who is speaking but a Wayne County staffer just told the GOP members of the board that refusing to certify is a "slap in the face" to their hard work.

Also, misinformation on the percentage of out-of-balance precincts in Detroit keeps getting repeated. I just did the math myself: 28% of Detroit precincts were out of balance, by between one and four votes. This is not outrageous, or a smoking gun of any kind.
Palmer is questioning why the most out-of-balance votes in an Ingham Co precinct is 4, and in Wayne Co it's 34. Well, there are 292,000 people in Ingham Co and 1.7 million in Wayne Co so I feel like maybe that's ... not an unreasonable disparity?

This is really important reporting. Blight isn’t something that just happens. It’s enabled by our policy choices.
I tracked the chain of title for 23 homes lost to tax foreclosure in ‘12/3 that ended up in the hands of speculators. While 78% of the houses were occupied in ‘11, 78% were vacant by ‘18. My latest on the active process creating blight in the neighborhoods
