Friends,
I am donating my left kidney in a few months to whoever may match with me at the top of the transplant waitlist. It would mean so much to me if you could read about my motivation, and consider donating to a local kidney organization.
Hi
#Canucks
fans 💙 I’ll be coming to the November 28th game for the
#hockeyfightscancer
night in support of
@MelanomaCanada
and the Jess and Red Hamilton fund!
Will be set up on the concourse pre-game and during intermissions, come say hi!!! I CANT WAIT!
To the
#seakraken
and
#canucks
fans for donating to my kidney donation fundraiser, I wanted to give you all an extra virtual hug.
Thank you for continuing to follow my journey after the cancerous mole story, I am blown away by your kindness.
I know I haven’t talked about the cancer story on here before but just wanted to say I’m SO forever grateful that people still remember.
People will forget about me, but they will always remember the message. Check your skin. Say something (even if they’re on the other team) 💙
Love seeing the Kraken get recognition all over sports media today.
Stuff like this does a lot to get more eyes on the Kraken and make more hockey fans.
Hi everyone, thank you to those who reached out to me this past week! I am doing so, SO much better and can walk again without issue. Still struggling with having an appetite but Richmond night market helped a lot with that ❤️
Big things coming in Tsawwassen next week!
After the most painful week of my life, I am starting to feel better ☀️
I have gained so much understanding in this experience. This will make me a better doctor.
Still in the hospital because it really hurts to breathe, but I’m getting better slowly! Here’s a pic of my kidney if anyone is curious as to what it looks like :)
Now that I am on the road to recovery, I wanted to update my fundraising page. Thank you to everyone who donated to the Northwest Kidney Centers on my behalf.
Humans looking out for other humans, it’s beautiful and humbling. I’m forever grateful ❤️❤️
@Canucks
fans! Assistant equipment manager Red Hamilton and his wife, Jess are raising money to bring the “Mole Mobile” to BC. This will offer free and accessible skin cancer screenings, something we are all very passionate about given the melanoma story!
Asked for an update about my kidney recipient’s state of health. The transplant was a success. 💙
My happiness far outweighs the pain I’m in. This was all worth it.
I passed Step 1.
Thank you to my family for dealing with the most sleep deprived, dehumanized, depressed version of me for 3 months.
Thank you to everyone who believed in me when I couldn’t believe in myself.
I’m so grateful.
What a game!!!
Thank you to the incredibly sweet
@SeattleKraken
equipment staff for cheering me up from behind the glass. They work so hard and I can’t be more grateful our team has them as support.
No one can tell me
@SEAbuoy
isn’t the most talented, cutest mascot in the world because he somehow asked me about my kidney donation recovery without saying a word. Ily buoy you have my whole heart. ❤️❤️❤️
In the meantime, I was able to visit my family in Korea last week! So many memories and tears, probably the best food I will ever eat, and stunning landscapes. Going to miss it a lot 🇰🇷
My little sister has been sitting next to me on her summer break, reading me flash cards while I’m recovering in bed. I don’t know what I did to deserve her.
Honored to be representing
#uwsom
at the Washington State Capitol today. Meeting with 5 senators and one rep concerning rural mental health equity

Also, my mom is coming with me and I can’t wait to see her in her element. She met Sergei Federov back in 1996 and then met my birth father right after a Canucks game a few years later. She goes back!
To my B.C. friends, I’m bringing my little sister up to see the Aurora Borealis in a few days. I was thinking Point Roberts area would be a good place to view, but does anyone have any better recs? Also keeping safety in mind for her <3 thank you!!
Hi everyone! Wanted to give you all an update that I have my kidney removal surgery in a few weeks!
I’m unbelievably grateful for this opportunity to do some good. Thank you for all for your support… in this surgery and in my life in general ❤️

The NP continued to push back at my mom saying it was probably okay, “due to her playing tennis, and that they didn’t need an XRay. My mom advocated and they finally took one. Got a call that, yes, she does have scoliosis and now has a follow up with an orthopedic doc.
I’ve never felt such a feeling of community before you all. You’ve taught me the strength of solidarity. Proof that hockey has the best fans out there 🥹
CHEERS TO THE 2023-2024 SEASON!
@FriedgeHNIC
Everyone knows I’m a Kraken fan but before all of that, I hold overall player safety in regard. This was a dangerous and irresponsible hit by Eberle. Cogliano has two daughters, we are lucky this neck fracture is recoverable. I wish him the absolute best.
I was a CNA before med school. Regardless of your role in the field, you’re responsible for providing the highest level of care that you can. A patient isn’t scheduling an expensive appointment with you and waiting weeks/months, to be laughed at and told they’re imagining it
As my time in anatomy comes to a close, I wanted to publicly honor my willed body donor for all she has taught me. To give your body after death, in all it’s history, service, and vulnerability, is an indescribably tremendous gift.
As a previous crisis intervention specialist and volunteer hotline phone worker, the National Eating Disorder Association’s decision to replace helpline staff with an AI chatbot is grossly irresponsible and disappointing. People need to be heard and acknowledged on a HUMAN level.
I may not ever know her name or hear her story, but I know that she was selfless, strong, and loved. Thank you, donor, for teaching me the rare beauty of human anatomy. I will remember you for the rest of my life.
@boltsbucsbabe
I’m studying right now for boards, feeling absolutely defeated, and your tweet made me smile for the first time in a while. Thank you so much for your belief and support in me.
Listening right now to TKP and they are both SO SWEET! Thank you so much for your kind words 💙💙 Hope you heal from your bronchitis quickly!
Also so excited for player cameo next week (maybe Kartye? 🤔)
Wanted to share a link for anyone in Washington state to get a free mail-delivered Naloxone kit!
Carrying this spray on you could be of use in emergency situations to reverse an opioid overdose and save a life ❤️
And to the NPs, MDs, PAs, and everyone in between who do their best to treat every patient with respect…thank you. Your affirmations and care mean the world to patients in what is often a vulnerable moment. Your work inspires me to my core.

It’s such a great cause, I wish preventable cancer screenings were this easy in the states. Jess and Red are incredible for working on a project like this. ❤️
@BrownJHM
Toxic epidermal necrolysis initiated by SMX-TMP drug. Progressed past Steven’s Johnson’s syndrome because the epidermal detachment covers over 30% of the body. Can test clinically with Nikolsky’s sign. 20% higher mortality in this case than SJS. Must be incredibly painful :(
@BC_Frank_Drebin
The Sedins are genuinely the nicest players I’ve ever met. On and off camera, they are genuinely both so thoughtful and dedicated. And their talent? Legendary.
@EmeraldCityHky
Aw I love that he said to check your skin! Statistically, most skin cancers are noticed by patients and family, not doctors!
Still amazed that the story could bring so much long-term awareness. 💙💙
@BrownJHM
Ah, classic target lesion! Erythema Multiforme… either from the respiratory tract infection (probably Myco Pneumo), or allergic rxn to the drugs given for treatment. I think it would depend on the onset of eruption, if the outbreak was sudden after drug administration or not…
@nwkidney
@UW
@UWNephrology
Thank you NKC for doing your best to provide trustworthy, compassionate care to my Washington neighbors suffering with kidney disease. Several of my

Hi Lindsay! I don’t know what to say, I’m so so grateful to you and your team. I was borrowing my step-dad’s jersey for the week (in this photo). He wears a 52! I can’t DM you unless you follow me if you’re able to for a brief time :) thank you again, I felt so bad his was taken.
@radiologistpage
Diffuse alveolar opacities, possibly left sided hilar lymphadenopathy? Need more history in terms of productive cough, dyspnea, etc- but if you’re pointing us towards a cancer with the weight loss hint: squamous or carcinoid tumor? Confirm with SVC syndrome, Cushings in hx.
