Researchers from @mwlr_nz will undertake the first global release of a lace bug species in Vanuatu next week to combat the invasive hibiscus bur shrub. A third of Vanuatu's pasture is currently lost to weeds; hibiscus bur is one of the most significant.

#EarthDay this year focuses on #plastics. On every continent microplastics can now be found. Digitised samples in the Antarctic Soils Explorer go back to 1957 & give access to info from a time before human visitation - soils their most pristine condition.
