@MoreHockeyStuff @NathanJRobinson It’s weird that eliminating wasteful government spending is a partisan issue, especially given our $36T debt and $1.8T annual deficit. The law you’re referring to is “Impoundment Control Act of 1974”. It’s being tested. Taxpayers elected Trump, who ran on cutting spending.

@Sassafrass_84 They played the “Black National Anthem”. I strongly disagree with that. It’s divisive. I was a lifelong Eagles fan & thrilled when they finally won a SB (52). Then they used the traditional White House congratulatory visit to protest Trump. NFL is on thin ice with me.

@indyfor45th47th It’s SOP to condition federal funds. It shouldn’t be, but that’s how elected officials in DC force their will on states, when they can’t do it with legislation.

@MarchandSurgery @X Slippery slope. I caught hell yesterday for using the slang term for a car’s transmission, in the context of a car’s transmission. The one that rhymes with “granny”.

@raggapegs Constitution originalists. The Constitution means what it says and it doesn’t mean what it doesn’t say.

@TRHLofficial ‘Saw another post that seems to answer it. The law is “Impoundment Control Act of 1974”. POTUS can’t unilaterally stop funds appropriated by Congress. He has to notify them & they have 45 days to approve. Senate Dems would filibuster to force wasteful spending.

@bobbt91 @TRHLofficial Damn. Good info though. So to comply, Trump notifies Congress. Senate filibusters and spending cuts are effectively obstructed.
