The best way to get a hold of me is to use my contact form. At the moment this is the easiest way for me to keep track of messages. I'm not able to answer them daily but am working on being more responsive. (1/2)
At long last we are ready to make new Gamecube colors, Gameboy Players, and accessories available for pre-order! Pre-Orders will go live tomorrow afternoon. We have a lot of info to share so be sure to go through the whole thread. (1/9)
Finally working on my NES FDS Disk adapter again. Added a Famicom Expansion cable. So not only can the disk drive be connected through the NES EXP port but Famicom accessories can too, or at least that is the theory. Still needs testing.
With production of the molds starting now and with the estimated timeline for machining, test shots, mold shipping, and production we are now estimating the ship date as end of February 2024. (1/2)
Planning to do a livestream assembling my Muramasa Disk System cartridges for the NES. Feel free to drop by and ask questions. Going to plan on 3PM Mountain Time.
Here is what the cable version will look like. Perfect for the top loader or front loader (as long as you don't push the cart down). I've created a placeholder listing for it. I'm close to opening pre-orders for this so I can figure out how many to make.
We are happy to announce our next project is a NES Top Loader replacement shell. We are announcing it now because we want to share the process as much as possible. We don't currently have a timeline all I know for certain is it will be after Gamecube shells have shipped. (1/3)
Alright! We have updates for the Gamecube shells. We’ve got good news: all necessary changes have been successfully implemented by the factory. Some issues were complex, but they did a great job. The shells are now functionally complete. (1/6)
Just wanted to give every one a quick update on Playstation shells as well as where Dreamcast and Saturn shells are going. I took a picture of my debug kit for attention. (1/10)
The moment has finally arrived. Famicom PCBS and shells are now available! Please share and retweet this hoping to spread the word far.

Been a while since I've had any progress on this. Have a first prototype together for this. I think it will all work fine, but there is a down side. The current setup doesn't really have a way to connect the Famicom Expansion port. Will have to decide how important that is.
So after how much traction this got the other day I figured I should talk some more about what my intentions are for my FDS adapter for NES. This is actually a project I've been planning since before I started this business. (1/6)
I can tell from the questions I've got over the last few days that I'm probably going to be taking a lot of pictures of different configurations of this cartridge. To give you all an idea of how long the cable is here is the cabled version of Disk Cartridge in a top loader.
New prototype. There are a few issues that need to be resolved in the drawings before we go to production which will probably result in some delays. I actually love the all white shell though. Had some issues with the print but wasn't really a problem for the testing we needed.
Also a preview of things to come. Just a sample the supplier sent me. Many of you have asked if Sega Saturn and this is to show that it is! As you can see it's still not finished. I didn't get any buttons, the lid, or any of the eject mechanism.
#segasaturn
Got these put together and everything works! Just one thing I don't like. The screws interfere a bit more then I would like with the NES Expansion Bridge connecting to the NES. So I think I will swap for some smaller screws. After that will be ready to start making these.
Time for a Gamecube update. We are looking at another delay. The new date we are expecting is June 29th 2024. Not what we were hoping to share but it has been unavoidable. If you are interested in a detailed schedule and reasons for where we are continue with the thread. (1/15)
Turns out this Gamecube prototype isn't final. Down to one outstanding issue. Which is the lid opening to fast. It happens because the damping gear isn't engaging with the lid. We think we have this figured out and have a new prototype on the way. Should be here next week. (1/3)
Hopefully this is the next thing down the pipe after GameCube. I've had several people express interest in NES cartridge shells with similar colors that I did with Famicom shells. So we are working on the design and with any luck people will still be interested when it's ready.😄
Have you ever misplaced something and couldn't recall where you left it? And after searching high and low with no success, you eventually give up, only for the item to show up unexpectedly a month or so later? Well here is my N64 test cartridge.
On wednesday the 24th at 2PM Mountain time
@pointerfunction
and I will be going over the first injection mold test shots for the Gamecube. We'll be going over how everything fits potential issues and next steps.
Finally finished some accounting and tax stuff that has consumed my life for the past few weeks. Catching up on orders and messages now. In the mean time have a random picture of SNES dev stuff.
So recently I posted about my Partner-SFC kit. Many mentioned that I should looks for comparable sales. I had only seen maybe 3 of these sell over the last 10 years (to be fair I probably don't watch as close as others) I check again and suddenly there is one on Yahoo auctions.
Tomorrow at 2PM Mountain time (March 19th 2024)
@pointerfunction
and I will be testing and validating the prototypes for the NES Top Loader. Excited to see where we are at with these prints. 😄
Have some new variants available for pre-order Jet Set Radio and new Hedgehog variants. Interested to see what people think. The blue variant with Sonic is what I've wanted since the beginning.
Working on the NES FDS RAM board again. Finally assembled it without sockets so I could confirm everything fit in an actual shell and the cable would reach the connector and slot into the strain relief. Will have more to show soon.
We have another update on Gamecube shells. Previously we had noted that we weren't satisfied with the surface finish of the Gamecube shells. The factory finished working on the molds and unfortunately their are still a few issues to resolve. (1/3)
Have some big news to share. I'm pleased to announce that we have purchased the tooling used to make Sega Saturn shells from
@Yoei_RetroCOOL
. They are currently still enroute to us but finally ready to announce it. So what does this mean? (1/4)
Recently had someone interest in this kit but we ended up being too far apart on price and it got me to thinking how do collectors go about pricing stuff like this? At this point I'm guessing there are much easier, cheaper, and more efficient ways to make snes games (1/2)
So we've created a placeholder page for Playstation shells. When they become available for sale anyone signed up will get a message. The waitlist also helps let the creator know what kind of demand there is.
Any one looking for a PS2 TOOL? Tested with a PS2 game. Would like to find someone in the USA since they are huge and heavy. DVD drive struggles to open and close but reads games fine. Hard drive replaced with a Compact flash card with access on the back. Includes a stand.
Alright. Finally have created a PLACEHOLDER listing for a model 1 (oval button) saturn shell. You can sign up to be notified when/if it becomes available.
Finally created some supporting product links for the Sega Saturn. Have replacement windows in both translucent and translucent black. As well as a battery door in black.
The main reason I went to the factory today was because I knew they would be starting the white and that meant more transition pieces. Apparently they really struggled to get the black out so had several neat pieces. (1/2)
Here is the latest NES Top Loader prototype by
@pointerfunction
. That we evaluated on stream. He did a great job and only found one very minor issue to fix. There are still a few minor enhancements we would like to make as well as the Famicom AV top as well. (1/2)
But here is the part everyone has been waiting for. Transition base. Matched with the top and lid I have. Going to have a hard time giving this one up.
DOL-101 consoles are less common and we didn't think this would be worth a separate mold to make it happen. As the planning for the molds continued we discovered that the tooling for the back panel could easily pump out two pieces for every cycle.(1/2)
So I've been asked before about Playstation emblem replacements. I'm aware of a few sellers of replacements. First is a seller on ebay selling emblem replacements on pcbs in blue, black, and white.
This is the big announcement that we have been teasing about for quite a while. This is a prototype sample of the Famicom shells we will be producing. This is just a sample and not the finished product . Don't yet have a release date, but hoping before the end of the year.
Good new Translucent Smoke Black Playstation shells are happening. Huge thanks to
@CastleManiaRyan
. For help making it possible. I've converted the listing to a pre-order listing now.
Another recent arrival. I purchased a Triforce for the N64 that was listed as not booting. I gave it a try and it indeed does not boot. Hopefully it's an easy fix. Maybe I can do a stream tearing it down and cleaning it.
Translucent Red Playstation shells are available for pre-order. They are planned to be shipped before the end of June as well as the long awaited extreme green shells.
New prototype arrived a bit ago.I assembled and sent this video to my engineer, and figured why not share it with you? You can see my messy desk and listen to me marvel that it finally works. 😀 (1/3)
So the supplier sends me different pieces so I can see what the latest colors are going to look like. Since the last shipment came I finally have enough parts to make a full case out of just samples. What do you think of this monstrosity? Should I keep it or burn it with fire?
From the category of "things I shouldn't be working on now" I have the NES Disk Adapter for the NES Hub by
@Time2Retro
. It connects the disk drive via the expansion port to work with my new NES Disk Cartridge.
For those interested the shell on the left is a prototype opaque black shell from
@Yoei_RetroCOOL
and the system on the right is a Net Yaroze. The texture of the Opaque Black shell is the same as a normal retail shell where as the Net Yaroze has some sort of texture or coating.
Some random stuff that found a home under an old desk in my house. From left to right PS2 Performance Analyzer, 3DO Dev Tower, PS3 Tool. Then a stack of Tianli Sega VCD Players as well as a Kingwon Famiclone VCD player.
Opentendo Top loader PCBs available for Pre-order. This pcb has been created by
@redherring32
with the goal of being as close to 1:1 with the original as possible. We are happy to carry it and even added some new colors! (1/2)
Made a label for my NEStender. The primary design consideration was for me to not confuse it with my Extended Converter when I need something. The only reason I made this was I was tired of having the top of my NES off to use socketed boards. Very happy with it so far.
Have some updates about Playstation shells. Opaque Black we are estimating will be ready November 21st. With Extreme Green being available December 9th. (1/3)
We are starting crowdfunding for Translucent Light Smoke Black PlayStation shells. The reason to do a crowdfund is
@Yoei_RetroCOOL
needs to reach 150 units in order to have translucent light smoke materials produced. More details are on the listing.
Really excited for the next
#PCBDay
. First prototype of my Famicom replacement board. Let's see if it works or if I derped it up. Have a placeholder on my page.
It's
#PCBDay
. Never have I received a box so big from
@JLCPCB
. Hopefully these are the final prototypes for my NES Expansion bridge. I also got parts to do more extended converters and top converters. Will see if I can do a stream soon to test things.
Another early issue was the memory card door pegs were a little too thick. This resulted in the door not springing back after being pushed back my a memory card. Another slight adjustment and we were good to go.
So I saw this tweet by qwertymodo asking about injection molding. I started writing a response and decided it would be a thread instead, and it kind of just kept growing. I plan to post a few every day for the next few days. (1/49)
Finally had a chance to use the jig to cut some NES carts for Extended converters. It works well but needs a little more support so fingers don't have to be involved. 😅
Got this little gem at a white elephant party. My friend couldn't decide what to bring so he clear coated a random Genesis. It turned out really nice and look forward to using it. Have no idea if the system works.
This is our final issue and has been the most difficult to solve. The damping gear doesn't engage with the lid. This results in the lid snapping open and bouncing at the top which isn't great. (1/8)
Website is back up! All order data has been recovered, and lot's of maintenance has been done. Sign ups for waitlists in the last month were not recovered. If you spot any issues with the site please let me know. Will be keeping an eye on it but hoping to do some other work now.
So funny enough the mold maker misunderstood the samples I wanted last time and sent me a black top piece. So I pieced this together. The emblem is from
@RockerGameMod
who was kind enough to send me one so I could check if they fit.
So many of you have seen Yoei's tweet about cancelling or delaying projects. I waned to let every one know that Gamecube shells are still in progress. Being worked on by Castlemania and myself. We will have some more updates in the next 2 weeks and will answer questions then. 1/2
I'm on the home stretch for the NES FDS Ram Cartridge. This is the current Famicom expansion port dongle. I do have plans to offer a BlueRetro dongle which would be an easy upgrade. There are other controller adapters I might tackle as well.
Not that you can tell from this picture. Final (hopefully please be final) prototype gamecube parts have arrived. Now time to put them together. Wish me luck!
