The PPD is generally a centrist party, with a big tent that includes center-left to center-right.
It's the party that created the Commonwealth (the current status) and its raison d'être is to defend some form of the current relationship with the US.

Russian scholars are our colleagues, Russian students are our charges. They too face danger from their gov’t and come to our universities seeking free inquiry and broad knowledge, which they will carry back home in time.
Welcome them. “Our city is thrown open to the world”.
I see some folks are floating the idea of expelling Russian students from US universities. As someone who has worked with, taught, and learned from Russian students and scholars at three institutions, I’m dismayed to see such a move considered by people who should know better.
