2. PROCRASTINATION. weird one but one of the best imo. ponder between bites and procrastinate eating, kinda like: “i’ll wait 10 min, if i still want it i’ll reevaluate”, “i’ll fold my clothes then ill eat”, “cooking is sm work, ill do it later”, “i’ll go do my makeup first”.
1. STAY OUT THE KITCHEN. stay away from where u store ur food. ur tempting urself, avoid it unless its meal time or ur passing by. stay in ur room or any other room w/o food. you’ll create a habit of it. stay out the house if that’s easier! but don’t linger in the kitchen.
5. BINGE ON LOW CAL FOOD. if ur gonna binge, which u likely will on this journey, binge low cal options. i lived off fiber one brownies and berries once🥲 fruits, veggies, applesauce, cauliflower rice, lollipops, sugar free candy, rice cakes, jello, etc.
7. THE 7 MIN RULE. after eating wait 7 min if ur still hungry. let ur body digest and take in the food. sometimes i’ll wait 7 before, wait 7 in between, and 7 after a meal, then drink water, to let the food slowly digest and make me fuller
4. FOOD GROSSPO. watching mukbangs has never worked for me, i get hungry if anything! but getting grossed out is different. some ppl eat food so messily and disgustingly. some eat nasty inedible food in general. watch it or think abt stuff that makes u nauseated. also feeders…

6. EAT PROTEIN BARS. istg get the cardboard tasting ones, ill have one when i feel im abt to binge and i won’t want to as much after bc EW gross and OW bc im suddenly bloated from the whey. the gatorade and powercrunch bars fr did ts. but this one reallyyy depends on the person!

9. TRACK. go on the scale, take ur measurements, or track cals. i used to refuse to do this when i had BED bc i was scared, embarrassed, and in denial. but seeing progress or getting hit with a reality check on ur own terms can be a huge motivator!!
-> relearning that there IS more time to eat food. ur not on a time limit, u WILL get to eat this food again. u WILL have more opportunities to eat again, u don’t need it all RIGHT NOW. having this mindset can set u free.
10. LIQUID CALS. i hate them, they’re not worth it, esp during binging episodes. already consuming so many cals through stuffing ur face, why add more unless it’s an appetite suppressant? just buy some mio or some other generic brand water flavoring. have diet soda or tea.

8. PROTEIN CARBS FIBER. ik how scary especially carbs can be, but u won’t have big carb cravings if ur already having it. i find it impossible to cut carbs out so allowing myself to have a small amount of carbs with a main protein and or veggies/fruit will make me feel better ->
16. CHARCUTERIE METHOD. that’s what i call this. when i have heavy cravings or want to eat small w variety, I’ll grab 1/2 handfuls of food i want. 4-7 diff foods and ill set it up on a plate all cute (or not). it reminds me of a personal charcuterie board or a ✨girl dinner ✨
13. MOVE. keep ur body in movement, at least 5k steps a day. stretch, yoga, walk, run, jog, dance, pace, jump rope, have a mental breakdown, sports, rage room, pilates, at home workouts, lift weights, go to the gym, take ur dog on a walk, idfc just MOVE.
-> abt a meal. i’ll be more satisfied and less likely to want to binge later. carbs also help w cognitive function and brain fog. if u wanna cut carbs later, go for it. but not quickly. protein helps with muscles and fullness. fiber on the side to help w digestion and bloating.
14. ANGER. personally, i have sm internal anger. i use it to push myself. i get angry at how i used to be treated when i was fat, how being fat affects me if i gain weight, wanting a revenge body, proving ppl wrong, or just strving bc im too angry to eat. however, i used to ->

12. DISTRACT. try to do things that have nothing to do w food. like picking up shifts at work, staying at school for a long time, going out w friends, going on walks, to stores, thrifting, smoking, danceing, drawing, making slime, studying, pets, videogames, sports, errands, etc.
15. LEFTOVERS. this is so important, try to not finish ur plate. even if it’s just a singular bite, leave. it. alone. or pack leftovers before u start eating. the goal is to end the habit of inhaling and licking the plate clean. starting small by decreasing ur meal and ->
11. COOK. i think this is one can be hard for some ppl. especially if depression is weighing on u, but cooking ur own food takes time and effort. when u want to binge, cooking will have u around food and in control. ur hunger might decrease as u cook or you’ll work up enough ->
-> eat a lot when i was angry. it was my coping mechanism. now i tell myself if im mad, don’t eat. ill end up more angry and sad if i do. swap the cope with distractions and gradually, starving. this takes a lot of practice and time.
-> of an appetite that it makes u appreciate and savor ur meal. it can become a hobby too. this can lead to more binges for some ppl so proceed w caution, but it’s an incredible tactic to get healthier if u do it right.
