Coming Monday! A lil 70 minute on-demand editing class, a companion to my 8 hour novel writing class. Like the monster 8 hour class, this one will also come with a pile o' pdfs full of supplementary materials. This one will focus on what it takes to make a plan for that first Big Picture revision.

It's interesting to do something you've never done before. 6 months ago, I started an intensive Bootcamp for around 80 writers, the final teaching push of a 3 year project. 450 hours of 1:1 zoom calls and 24 hours straight of class instruction later, I'm on the last week. I dream of the students' work every night. More than that, I dream of four act structure, reader satisfaction, writerly promises, first person versus third person POV, craft craft craft. When I wake up, I've been demonstrating line editing all night. And I'm sort of wondering what my next project will look like after this. I don't know what this will change about my work, but it seems impossible that it won't. If you've done the math, I've done very little in the past six months that was NOT thinking or talking about craft. The longest time off was 3 days at Christmas, and I was working on my own drafts then. What is my brain in 2025? Who knows. But it is not my brain in 2024. I certainly know my 70some possumflies are different than they were in 2024. For starters, now they know 70 other possumflies. For finishers, now they have come up with that name for themselves. This is the last week for the possumflies and me. What will our brains do on the other side? WHAT?
