We make these enhanced law enforcement strategies because that’s what would deter you … the stable , optimistic , have something to live for crowd That’s not who is in the mix , those people have already accepted pre mature death and incarceration as inevitable.. deterrent!?

I don’t know the details about the shooting at Union Station … but if you shoot someone in Union Station … all kinds of Law Enforcement There is a mindset that you not going to scare away … but you can love and resource it away

@POTUS you are the person that can do it , we aren’t a state .. so the buck stops with you on an issue such as this in our city So many people have returned but can’t access certain opportunities because of their record

@POTUS as you contemplate public safety in DC , I encourage you to utilize your Pardon powers for so many DC residents that have been held accountable and re looking for a second chance Help clear their path to gainful employment and opportunity That’s how you make DC safer

At my aunts funeral on Saturday… 3 generations of justice involved men asked me about employment opportunities I don’t expect that people get it fully because I know you don’t have proximity to these people but I do People want opportunity, we have to clear the road to it

Get as tough as we can on crime , that will not eliminate what poverty and hopelessness does We have to use workforce development and opportunity as a public safety strategy

Opening up opportunities for people that have been justice involved is a public safety strategy , not a social justice one and not a woke one

Our city leaders can not betray the values of our city nor the promises they made to residents in an attempt to appease people that could care less about your pivots Pick your spots but do not hurt residents
