#1994AlbumsTop20 13. STRANGELOVE - TIME FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE Radiohead’s Ed O’Brien famously said his band were post-Strangelove. Listening to Time For The Rest Of Your Life and comparing Radiohead’s sound in ‘93 to ‘95 you understand what he meant. Crucial album.

@seanonolennon I recently discovered a hair growing from my ear. The less hair I have on my head, the more I seem to be getting everywhere else. But hey, I have colleagues that weren’t even born when I saw you at a fastival over 25 years ago!

After getting a gift card from work I finally bit the bullet on the Mind Games reissue, and I’m happy I did: the Elemental mixes (stripped back versions, one or two instruments and upfront vocals) are fabulous.

@mickvanwely @wierdduk Hiermee ben ik het eens. Ik verschil op heel veel punten sterk van mening met Wierd, maar hij heeft ook uitstekende muzieksmaak (Siouxsie!). Mensen zijn meer dan hun politieke standpunten en dat vergeten we hier.

@alldelightedppl It’s not a happy one, but I remember going to two funerals in one week, and on the way back from the second listening to “Death With Dignity” and all the emotions I’d been trying to lock away just came crashing out and I cried.

#GeneTop15 1. OLYMPIAN (1995) “Just delayed” Not a happy ending, but a majestic one. Unrequited love, death, building and building until the song grows itself into a breakdown. Somehow typical album track and successful single.

@Top10Nathan The b-sides and bonus tracks on this are excellent, but I cannot get excited about vinyl.

@tgcharlton I doubted if I could include this… half an EP and half 2 CD singles compiled on one disc. It’s really good (I like it more than The Bends I think), but in the end the purist in me said no.
