As Government takes over these facilities, I call upon all stakeholders-government agencies, the private sector and the public to support this transition and ensure these facilities continue to serve their purpose effectively. Together we can create a safer and more sustainable transport system for all Ugandans.

Today, @MoWT_Uganda received 7 Vehicle Inspections Stations from M/S SGS Company following the termination of their Mandatory Vehicle Inspection contract in 2020 and Cabinet's decision to compensate SGS of their total investment in 2023. 💸The compensation amount of UGX 109.9bn was arrived at. Following the payment of the first 30% and the reinstallation of the vehicle inspection equipment by SGS, the facilities were today handed over to @MoWT_Uganda. The Stations are located in 📌Namanve, 📌Namulanda, 📌Nabbingo, 📌Kawanda, 📌Gulu, 📌Mbarara and 📌Mbale. ✅These stations will be used for mandatory motor vehicle inspection and as fitment centers for Digital Registration Plates under the ITMS Project. This will in turn improve road safety and protect the environment through the mandatory inspection of all vehicles in the country for roadworthiness and environmental compliance. @SGS_SA @GCIC @nemaug @mofpedU @UNBSug @PSF_Uganda @NITAUganda1
