@Uncle__Yuri @iSwearImKarl @treblewoe To think parents should remain invested in their children’s well being is loser mentality?

@ConceptualJames It is the Christian view, that homosexuality is sin, disgusting and abhorrent to God.

That’s not the dialogue. It’s a social commentary seeking to understand why a specific age bracket in the US would prefer to live away from their children, not help them to buy homes and cars, or largely not participate in the lives of their grandkids. It’s obviously not everyone, but is unique seemingly to boomers. You don’t see the same age bracket in China or Japan behaving similarly.

Asian cultures oftentimes live multi generationally, entire net worth handed to the younger to start them off on life, but the younger must take care of the older as they age. I don’t believe it’s a matter of entitlement, rather a matter of duty. Parents and grandparents should be duty bound to help in the care of the younger generation and vice versa.

@Tomkubus3 @treblewoe Wasting money on second homes and expensive travel instead of your children and grandchildren is morally wrong. It’s selfish. Boomers would rather see their brokerage account grow instead of helping their children while they’re alive.

It’s greedy for boomers to not support their children and grandchildren. Morally bankrupt in fact. The idea that grandparents should buy a second house in Mexico and piss away their wealth instead of living near and supporting their grandchildren is selfish and wrong. The collective behavior is indulgent and we should call it out as such.

@Optm1st @treblewoe Boomers did pay into the machine, but were rewarded with the capital usury growth of the big inflation fed reserve glut dump

@Visionboard0312 @treblewoe So true - but men go right Akon too and buy their novelty cars and take great pride in the Rolex and two houses and and and materialistic tragedy

@realpauledward @treblewoe It is up to us, agreed. The boomer ethos was raised by the Great Depression babies. There is some degree of famine mindset that was laid into the brain of the boomer. Famine mind (greed) + great prosperity = two houses, retire at 52.5, and margs at 4:45
