This is Gordon my Father-in-law at the Emirates 15 years ago. Gordon is 88 today and is unfortunately suffering from Dementia and cannot remember ever going. He was a regular at Highbury from 1947 and loves my photos and watches all games on tv. Pls give him a shoutout

My grandsons first game v Norwich with Amazon film crew. He is sporting his new shirt with Auba on back his idol he is only six doesn’t understand what’s gone on behind scenes just Auba has gone. He will move on to another player another shirt he is Arsenal for life.

Happy birthday to the legend Ken Friar who is 89 today. First employed by Arsenal aged 12 Ken has an amazing 77 year association with the club. He is now life President after serving as club secretary and MD. Ken has a statue and a bridge named in his honour.

Many of us miss Highbury but how lucky we are still being able to visit and take in the memories that fantastic stadium holds for all of us lucky enough to have witnessed such great times. So many old stadiums have become supermarkets or housing estates.

Mentioned a few of our leaders and captains recently, at the time didn’t include Pat Rice who is an Arsenal man through and through made 528 appearances, was youth team coach, first team caretaker manager,and assistant manager to Wenger. Pat Rice is an Arsenal legend.

Sadly our Gooner Gordon passed away peacefully last night in the presence of his family. Gordon was a Holloway lad attended Tollington Park school and was an avid Arsenal fan for almost 80 years attending games at Highbury and the Emirates. You will be missed.

I share this today as many of you have been aware of as I call him Gooner Gordon’s battle with Dementia. The family were advised today that he may have only days left and he will be made as comfortable and pain free as can be.His two favourites Ronnie Rooke and Joe Mercer await.

Kevin Richardson, not the first name that comes to mind from the 89 squad, but when you watch the Anfield match he was always in the thick of things,winning tackles all over the pitch and feeding the the likes of Rocky and Michael Thomas he certainly played his part.

42 years ago today after 528 appearances for The Arsenal Pat Rice was sold to Watford for £8000. Four years later he returned spending a further 28 years in a coaching /managerial role. From an FA youth cup winner 1966 to Double winner 1971 Pat Rice you are a legend.
