Growing up I felt like my depression is never justified. In my childhood I rarely got hit, my family was fairly well off, all I had to do was carry the expectations of my very controlling mother. But that type of control/expectation was traumatic, and I am finally recognizing it
subtle trauma is more evil because it makes you question your perception and traps you in this maze of guilt that you are not strong enough or good enough to withstand it. This is not the pain Olympics. You don't get to tell people how they should recognize their trauma.
