For those who are interested, I have a playlist titled “Mommy Ran Accounts” on TikTok that expose the various ways parents are exploiting their (mainly) young girls online
@chescaleigh
This! Also, why are we normalizing GRWM of kids and toddlers? What message is that sending them and why do parents want to have strangers see their children get dressed?! This “trend” is wrong for SO MANY REASONS. Kids are not content ❤️
The “egg crack challenge” is the latest “trend” that involves parents getting “likes” at the expense of their children. I hate this stuff- kids are not props.
Ruby Franke, known for her Youtube channel "8 Passengers," which garnered the attention of millions of people around the world, was arrested Wednesday on two counts of second-degree felony aggravated child abuse.

I can’t be the only one who thinks parents soliciting strangers to buy their children bikinis and jewelry is inappropriate and wrong 🙈🤯
Adults should not be able to subscribe to “exclusive content” of strangers online. The platforms need to shut this down. (See previous post)
Keep these photos of your children private to protect their safety and save them from future embarrassment.
Furthermore, children are human beings who deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.
Parents - pause before you post ❤️

When an international Instagram influencer appreciates your efforts, you know you're making a difference.
History repeats: Just as child actors once faced exploitation in Hollywood's glare, today's internet child stars encounter similar vulnerabilities. These children have no protection under the law for their labor, privacy or the income they are generating. Their stories will come.
The YouTube Channel ‘8 Passengers’ had over 2 million subscribers at one point; however, the family channel was plagued by concerns and criticism from views over the parents treatment of the six children.
Not everything that happens in private needs to be shared publicly but some parents are so desperate for virality they will compromise their child’s right to privacy, informed consent and digital safety for some attention from strangers.
Parents- pause before you post ❤️
That’s me- I’m the “Mom Influencer”
“We are now, in 2023, cracking eggs on our children’s heads in hopes that they have an entertaining reaction that we can post publicly online to entertain strangers?”
At this point I shouldn’t be shocked but I am SHOCKED. The “creative” ways in which parents are exploiting their daughters online is deeply disturbing. What type of parent does this?! 😳🥺
Adults should not be able to subscribe for “exclusive access” to children.

Should adults be able to subscribe to “exclusive content” of minors?

The "egg crack challenge" is this year's version of the "cheese challenge". When did humiliating/ shaming/ embarrassing kids publicly become an acceptable "trend"?
It’s important to recognize the difference between influencers who occasionally share a photo or video of their children and those who have turned their children into content, commercialized their childhood and monetized their existence.

This comment is from the video I posted yesterday so if you need context, check that out. Also, I have spent over a year educating and informing parents of the risks in having their children online over on TikTok. Sometimes I’m frustrated with what I see and that’s okay.
Since we’re talking about parents using their children as props for social media “prank” trends, what about this one?
The child is not “in on the joke”. This isn’t a pre-planned prank because the child is too young to understand the concept- this is cruel.

We need to stop following parents who prioritize their online popularity over their children's right to privacy, informed consent and safety online.
Kids are not content.
If you don’t want a naked video of yourself circulating on the internet without your knowledge and consent- don’t do it to your children. Children are human and deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.
Beyond the fact that predators are actively looking for this content- your baby is a human deserving of dignity, respect and privacy. If you don't want your bowel movement filmed and posted without your consent online, don't do it to your children.
Child exploitation encompasses various forms and one of those is Family Vlogging.
When discussing Family Vlogging as a potential form of child exploitation, it is important to consider the elements and practices that may align with these definitions.
