New federal $ for #Medicaid for home & community-based services didn't make it into the budget reconciliation bill - but the need for additional investments to support #seniors & people w/ #disabilities living in the community remains - & will only increase as population ages.

6 states have waivers to extend the time to decide appeals when applicants/enrollees challenge #Medicaid coverage denials/terminations. CMS guidance envisions safeguards, but it will be important to ensure that people don't end up w/ coverage gaps/unpaid bills as a result.
