FULL MATCH: Damian Priest & Io Shirai (Iyo Sky) VS Johnny Gargano & Candice LeRae Sept. 30th 2020 @ NXT Includes Damian and Iyo's entrance and post-match sequence. Fam ngl I really like these two paired together. My 2020 heart was jumping up and down because Io Shirai was THE WOMAN and seeing her paired with my favorite of all time like this was actually nuts. People were saying at the time "why not Finn and Iyo?" but it was obvious why and this feud/mixed feud was the flag that I needed to realize that Damian was main roster bound. Not so much Iyo since she wasn't gonna lose to LeRae like be serious lmao Damian has a very grounded moveset with some aerial offense (the somersault dive, the spinning heel kick, the springboard punch) compared to Iyo's moveset which is very aerial-based, their match-up was incredible and I wouldn't mind seeing them again together. After my heart heals, that is. Incredible match, Damian and Iyo dominate the match but of course Candice will Candice and just be unbearably annoying. Gargano's heel work is FANTASTIC though, like genuinely one of the greatest heels in NXT.
