the thing I like is you can do things that would normally make sounds atonal, but then sync will snap it back to tonality. I've tried to fake it into reality in additive synths by just tuning a arpeggiator so it retriggers at audio rate and it makes really crazy sounds.

I love these really short and high hybrid trap type snares with resonant tails. The best part is that they're really easy to make‼️

as D delay a while back
picked up bitwig today - first FX grid experiment was an attempted rip off of
@sabroi_
's p-delay with some added spice. two parralel anti-phase delay lines ran through two more comb delays with a random retrigger. instant pots and pans.. don't mind the decimated video quality

ok ok please forget ott, dsm v3 is the shiiit ! and i'm really very serious about this. this thing can give you really similar results but much cleaner and much more natural souding. for those who care, it is also phase
accurate + lots of other cool stuff

I stopped focusing on fat/intense sound and focused on subtle movement, textures, detail, swing. what still bothers me a bit is the way I always have to use kicks, snares, hats... when I can just use random sounds instead
But I'm still into bass stuff so it makes sense I guess
