Lots of really good answers in this thread. Thanks to everyone who added their two cents. To sum it up: 1. Live in an undesirable area 2. Take advantage of USDA loans 3. Buy a smaller house than you want 4. Work two jobs or have a business 5. Stick to a strict budget Not all fun answers, but it’s a really cool testament to the lengths these Catholic men go to provide for their families. Lots of mentions of “I hope this trend changes.” I agree. Honest, hard working men building families in America should be able to buy a good home for their family. It’s important we fight to change the culture by where and how we spend our money. Homeownership is not a right. It’s a privilege. And at this moment in 2025, it’s extremely difficult for SIWKs.
Question I have for Catholic dads... What's the best way to become a homeowner as family with one income? Want to hear all the advice I can.

One of the most important factors for success I knowing exactly where you are going and not spending time on distractions. When you know what you want, you realize 99% of things are just distractions and wastes of time. You have to get good at saying no, ignoring, and being okay with that.
