i think this is a larger issue that stems from souyo being really oversaturated in the fanbase. it’s a similar issue to what happened with tatsujun for a while where aspects of jun’s character were compartmentalized into fitting a certain stereotype of boys love
I dont think there's anything wrong with choosing to view yosukes character through a homosexual lense, I personally do myself, but why does it feel like the idea of him having internalized homophobia only ever gets to be "explored" as a plot device for "yaoi" or as a joke

slight correction here, the first time marie tells yu "I love you" actually comes when she appears in yu's dreams before she goes to the hollow forest. she's under the impression this is not only the last thing she'll ever say to him, but that he'll forget it all regardless

its really funny that post-canon Marie is a working woman with a stable income while Yu remains a broke student. Best part is I think Yu would still insist on paying for everything out of habit, which would def tick off Marie now that she actually knows the value of money.

Fun Fact!
In the ENG Dub, Marie is fluent in French. But in JP, she’s fluent in English, the same language that Yu is a translator for and struggles with. This is ref’d in PQ during their marriage scene, where Yu can say “I love you” incorrectly in French and Marie corrects him.
