@aidan_mclau @vlad3ciobanu Is it better than you (and for sure, me) programming even if the context size is high (e.g. if you need to fix something non-trivial thing in a huge codebase)?

@AdanBecerraPhD @aidan_mclau @GaryMarcus Also, asking the model about itself is not a good idea, they usually not trained or prompted to know anything about themselves.

@AdanBecerraPhD @aidan_mclau @GaryMarcus But it's not a product, it's a 671B parameter big LLM. The API and web service around is NOT called r1. r1 is the model under the hood. You can also download the model and use it without that web product and it would still be called r1 I'm not sure what part doesn't go through.

@nrehiew_ If Gary Marcus calls an LLM "neurosymbolic" it means not even he can deny how impressive it is.

@AdanBecerraPhD @aidan_mclau @GaryMarcus Then you would be wrong. Deepseek was pretty clear about what they named r1, and it is an LLM, not a service.

@AdanBecerraPhD @aidan_mclau @GaryMarcus r1 is an LLM. It's a set of weights that were trained using RL. You can download it if you want and use it like any other LLMs. Putting it behind an API and creating a simple web interface doesn't change this fact.

@visakanv Are you looking for genuinely mentally unstable assholes trying to making some non-conformist music? I got you covered.

@DaveShapi 100% troll. Even if he turns out to be not a troll. I will refuse to believe it. Troll.

@TheXeophon @xlr8harder Then I don't think it's gonna be problem. ESA is still actively collaborating with SpaceX. If that's okay for European leaders, I'm sure an anti-asteroid mission would also be approved. If Elon is ok with a regular business contract in this case is an other question.

@TheXeophon @xlr8harder Wait... something happened? Someone said that they rather have the asteroid hit the Earth than to enter a regular business contract with SpaceX?

@airkatakana I agree with you on that, that's fucked up. Prison for any kind of defamation is fucked up.

@xlr8harder I meant what is the price? Let's say a bunch of legitimate scientists come to the conclusion that we have the best chance by buying some SpaceX rocket and Elon is willing to sell it at reasonable price. No one's gonna oppose it. I certainly won't.

@scaling01 That was rather Oumuamua. That's just a random, unimportant asteroid from our own solar system. If it hits, it will be loud, like the Tunguzka event, but with no global consequences.

@C_Quemeneur @Dan_Jeffries1 Fun fact: Frank Herbert never clarified what exactly the Butlerian Jihad was. It had something to do with thinking machines that were outlawed after the war, but it's not clear if it was humanity vs machines or anti-machine humans vs pro-machine humans.

RT @Dorialexander: Unsure the best line of attack against Chinese models is that they are… insufficiently censored.

@NaveenGRao Especially big companies like Google and Microsoft will be able to ship full products that capture most of the value that is created by the AGI. E.g. instead of an API that could help building website, google can introduce "website buddy" that creates websites for you with AI.
