The biggest takeaway from playing CBB that I’d tell any HS kid is how much you have to love practice. You’re only guaranteed 30-31 games. There’s 200+ practices for those 30 games. 99% of your college basketball career is spent on the practice court, weight room & classroom

The reason everyone on the team is so pumped for ManMan is because he’s truly one of those special people. From the walk-on’s to the starters, he treats everyone the same and is close with all of us. From grinding in JUCO to ACCPOY. Special story and he earned it.

Every kid dreams of being a part of the NCAA tournament. It’s why I gave up a scholarship/playing time to come to a school like Wake. It’s been a hell of a year and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Love these guys and proud of all we’ve accomplished so far.

2 years ago I came to Houston as a volunteer. Going from an ACC player to a manager was tough but it was the best decision I’ve ever made. To learn from Coach Sampson & this staff and be in the UH program has been the joy of a lifetime. 65-9, B12 Champs, AAC Champs, 2x Sweet 16.

When I got to Wake Forest in 2018 the facilities were at the bottom of the ACC. By the time I left they had some of the best in the country. NIL hit and I worried how Wake could compete.

Wake Forest basketball was in the gutter. In “year 2” Coach Forbes and staff transformed a team projected 13th in the ACC with 0 expectations to a 23-8 (13-7) record and the 3rd best ACC team on Kenpom. He deserves ACC COY.
In the previous four seasons, Wake Forest was a combined 41-74 (.357).
That was the 3rd-worst win pct of ANY major conference team ahead of only Vanderbilt and California.
Pretty impressive season by Steve Forbes and the Demon Deacons.
