1/11 We explored how cells adhere to supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) using Invasin, a high-affinity integrin ligand. Surprisingly, cells spread and form mature integrin adhesions on fluid SLBs, revealing novel microtubules-driven mechanotransduction!

Very excited to share the results of my Ph.D. work @BassereauTeam @institut_curie We show for the first time that cells adhere and spread on fluid substrates. That occurs due to microtubule/dynein-dependent forces perpendicular to the substrate.
