It’s not a ‘beauty spot’. It’s a disused quarry pool which is almost as toxic as bleach.

Chesterfield Royal Hospital says there hasn't been a Covid-19-related death there since July 31.
At 2pm yesterday, nobody was in the Royal with confirmed coronavirus.
Since the end of March, 580 Covid-19 patients have been able to return home after being treated at the Royal.

On Sheffield Road earlier, I approached a police officer involved in the counter-terrorism operation in Chesterfield. On behalf of everyone, I thanked him and his colleagues for keeping us all safe. He smiled, said ‘thanks’ and carried on with his job - a job few of us would do.

Most encouragingly even with testing improving, the new infection numbers are showing signs of reducing.
