#MerryChristmas - 2024 has been a rollercoaster but I’m equally thankful for the opportunities such as my time in London & hard lessons in health & loss of loved ones. Grateful that I have been forced to grow to meet a new era come #2025 and wish you all a safe, healthy #NewYear

Trump’s populism has won. The results will reverberate across the world in his term. It’s time for the centre / centre-left to iteratively reflect. Its cancel culture & absolutism has scared off the middle who clearly wants a more moderate approach. #electionday2024 #USAElections

@shufflesdu A genuine request. If you refer to him by his surname, please be gender equitable in your political socioeconomic discourse & refer to her as Harris and not the informal first name. If you prefer first names, use both of theirs. Every small step aids achieving gender parity🙏🏼.

In 2015 UN member states adopted SDG 3 promoting access to healthcare and a state of wellbeing universally. Why almost a decade later is it still controversial to advocate as @BarackObama does that ‘healthcare is a right, not a privilege’? I add that capable states are required.
50 million people have now gotten health care coverage thanks to the Affordable Care Act. That’s something we’ll always be proud of. Health care is not, and never will be, a privilege — it’s a right. And I'm grateful for the work that Joe and Kamala continue to do to improve the ACA to make it more affordable and effective for everyone.

A message for @GovernmentZA harking back to 1994 vision of a developmental state. Grow the economy. Create jobs. Provide a social security net whilst you work to overcome poverty AND in all you do, build & expand instead of impoverishing the economic backbone - the middle class⬇️
Building up the middle class will be a defining goal of my presidency. This is personal to me. The middle class is where I come from. My mother kept a strict budget. We lived within our means, yet we wanted for little. And she expected us to make the most of the opportunities that were available to us and to be grateful for them because, as she taught us, opportunity is not available to everyone. As president, that’s why I will work to create an opportunity economy where everyone has the chance to compete and succeed—whether you live in a rural area, small town, or big city.

It’s 2024 and @realDonaldTrump supporters still want to “put women in their place”, in this case @KamalaHarris No wonder @wef forecast at this pace it will take 134 years to reach #GenderParity ‼️
Republicans like this don't see women as equal to men in any sense. They hate women who challenge the gender hierarchy of men over women.

A midnight reminder that how you say matters as much as what you’re trying to say. An example. You are reinforcing #genderbias & negative societal norms when you discuss #USAElections, refer to @KamalaHarris as “Kamala” but her male counterparts by their surname. Names matter!

@FarukHoosain This resonates deeply with me. A poignant reminder to choose wisely what to do with the time we know not how much is gifted to us. Sage advice, leadership 🙏🏼.
