The politics of a division from an Oxford educated student politician with no experience. Just when you thought the reputation of our government couldn't sink any lower.
Our state schools need teachers more than private schools need embossed stationery.
Our children need mental health support more than private schools need new pools.
Our students need careers advice more than private schools need AstroTurf pitches.
From Monday, this government will be delivering 15 hours funded childcare for hundreds of thousands more families.
High quality early education and childcare boosts children's life chances and parents' work choices.

Judging people by "standards" 100 years later is academically lazy and done only to further the career interests of 2nd rate Uni Lecturers. Churchill made mistakes sure but he and GB stood alone against Hitler in 1940 and he nutured the flame of resistance to the Nazi's.

Oh dear....Labours superficial relationship with business starting to fall apart already. Expect more of this. Sir Jim Ratcliffe attacks Labour energy plans days after backing Starmer
A barefaced lie. Inflation at 2%, as the Economist reports the strongest growth in Europe, the lowest unemployment rate in generations and the highest foreign direct investment in Europe. By comparison to our peer group, the UK is in a strong position post pandemic.
The Conservatives left us with the worst inheritance since the Second World War.
Today I will set out how this new Labour government will fix the foundations of our economy, so we can rebuild Britain and make every part of our country better off.
Labour Party Oxford graduates and Sly News elites might be furious with her for saying it, but the Liverpudlian lass,
@GillianKeegan
, hits the bullseye on the education lie that's terrifying our nation's kids.
How a Labour minister with zero workplace experience thinks he knows better than Amazon about how to run thier business is beyond me. These people are fools living off dogma.
The authority of the government has collapsed before our eyes. The idea that the party hacks who will now replace her will deliver anything of value for the British people is absurd.
Belittling a woman who left school at 16 from a working class background. Gillian has two degrees incidentally, including a Sloan Fellowship. This member of the new elite is emblematic of what is wrong with our public discourse.

Labour's client journalists are helping to move on the news agenda. Completely the opposite to what they did over partygate. No wonder people are losing trust in the press.
#Hypocrites
Amid the (mostly) trivia freebiegate stories, the real story of Labour conference was largely missed. The clearest signs yet the govt is going to shift fiscal and political approach and start talking about borrowing to invest. My piece for

Russia invaded Afghanistan in 1979 and supplied weapons, military equipment, and advisors to Syria and Gaddafi. Not exactly uninvolved.
I’m delighted to announce that we’re accepting in full the recommendations of the independent pay review body of a 6.5% increase in teacher pay.
This is the highest pay award for 30 years and we will also deliver on our commitment to raise teachers’ starting salary to £30k.

So we now live in a country where the Chancellor of the Exchequer misdeclares her expenses in order to conceal cash for clothes. Another huge blow to the public's trust in this government of self-service.
So the Labour Chancellor now in charge of HMRC mis-declared spending on designer clothes as “office expenses” to Parliament.
How would HMRC treat ordinary taxpayers doing the same on their tax return?

Both major parties should revert to thier previous system of allowing MPs to choose. We live in a Parliamentary system not an activist one. The current system is distorting our democracy in both parties and needs to change.

Do wish you would stay off politics, James. Do you have a solution to offer, or are you just parading your moral superiority? We have a crisis at the borders, as does everyone else. Solutions are required, not virtue signalling.

There’s nothing wrong with it. Alastair Campbell is just a hate-filled, nasty bully who is so belligerent that he must always find something negative to say about the Conservatives.

Why? Defamation is serious. Journalists need to take responsibility, surely? I hold no brief for Banks but what she did was outrageous.
Immense pride today for my friend of nearly 40 years John Bercow as he announces the end of his Speakership. Despite all the personal attacks he has risen above them all and done the job superbly to defend Parliament, backbenchers and our democracy. History will be kind to him.
The chickens are coming home to roost already as the reality of a Labour government becomes appraent. Destruction of industries, flight of talent, reducing investment, education tax, war on aspiration, robbing pensioners and taking orders from Trade Unions.

Possibly however the issue is the fuss Labour would make if a Conservative peer who was also a donor did the same thing. When combined with the appointment of tribal Labour staffers to civil servant roles with no obvious experience beyond their idealogy and you have a bad look.
Perhaps the penny will now drop. Labour will undermine investment, destroy jobs, and give Union bullies free reign with these proposals. Socialism is the new cancer.
24 May 1941, Battle of Atlantic, German Battleship Bismarck sunk HMS Hood, killing all but 3 of 1,418 crew. Launched 1918, she was named after Rear Adm Sir Horace Hood, killed at Battle of Jutland. In inter-war years, ship was iconic figure for Royal Navy, UK & the Empire.
