I see they've opted for the more modern lyrics of Abide With Me before the Challenge Cup Women's final today #subtitlingfail

@sloaners2000 @BBCnireland @BBCOneNI @GavNI @mark_simpson @kathyclugston @PaulReid74 @kerry_mclean @TinaCnews 2/2 This means that, say there's a technical fault in the studio and the election programme has to come off air, it's up to whoever's on (Elaine Ayre tonight) to take over and run something else instead. Given its such an important programme, you can't relax for a second.

@sloaners2000 @BBCnireland @BBCOneNI @GavNI @mark_simpson @kathyclugston @PaulReid74 @kerry_mclean @TinaCnews 1/2 Haha, well, agreed that it's not the *busiest* night, but remember that the BBC NI "announcers" are also the Playout Directors and are responsible for transmitting everything you see at home. (It's the same in Scotland and Wales, but they're separate jobs on network)

@PaulReid74 @tomselsocial In all honesty I didn't know that was the launch of the new set - and even if I had, I'm not sure I'd have mentioned it, as you could argue it's pulling the viewer out of the story. Maybe? But as Paul says, we were tight for time anyway.

@Openclimb75 @mark_simpson @MattRosser @ThatDavidHarper @PaulReid74 No, we’d have to fight it out for the title, a bit like Gladiators except we’d clobber each other with old Radio Times

@Openclimb75 @ThatDavidHarper @MattRosser I remember watching it as a viewer at home, but never played it out. It might have indeed first been used for a theme night, then possibly used for a bit before films. But I don’t *think* it was remade with the Lambie-Nairn blocks in ‘97
