Today, 4 of our officers assisted a man having an emotional episode, threatening harm to himself & others. They formed a rapport w/the man & were able to calm him down, resulting in a safe end. Good work, Officers Kyler Stevenson, Abbey Cowette, Joseph Tucker, and Justin Wheeler.
Congratulations to Mitchell Briggs on his graduation from the NH Police Academy. The Manchester PD is so proud that Mitchell has decided to follow in his fathers footsteps. Mitchell is the son of fallen Manchester Officer Michael Briggs. Briggs died in the line of duty in 2006.
Manchester Police received a report this week that Harmony Montgomery has not been seen since late 2019. The circumstances surrounding this prolonged absence are very concerning and are being thoroughly investigated.
Another arrest in connection with the missing child, Harmony Montgomery. 31-year-old Kayla Montgomery has been charged with Welfare Fraud. Click the link for more info.
The missing mother and child have been located. They were found in Manchester and are safe. We thank the public for their help as it led to a quick and safe resolution.

Ladies of law! Officers Brittany Battye, Michaela Cosby, and Abbey Cowette all ended up on the same call Thursday evening. It was a report of a missing child, but fortunately it didn’t take long for the little girl to be safely located. Their smiling faces say it all.
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our retired police horse Valor.
After 17 years on patrol, he retired in August 2020. Recently he was diagnosed with Lymphoma, and declined rapidly. The hard decision was made yesterday to put him down. RIP dear friend.
It has been 14 years since Officer Michael Briggs made the ultimate sacrifice. His memory will always be with us. Today a large group of Manchester officers & retirees gathered at the NH State Veteran’s Cemetery in Boscawen paying tribute to our fallen brother. RIP.

We are happy to announce that ALL three of the Manchester officers injured during a call Tuesday afternoon have been discharged from the hospital. They are all in good spirits and continue to recover. We thank the community for the concern and support during this difficult time.

They are BACK! Your friendly downtown walking patrol is once again strolling up and down Elm Street. First day out was Officers Matt Mara and Dan Richmond. They will rotate with a third officer, Brianna Miano. You can expect to see them all summer long!

"Moose" is retiring. He has been a dedicated, hard working police K9 w/ the Manchester PD for 8 years. We are all sad to see him go, buthe will continue to be cared for by his MPD handler, Officer Ben Foster. He will now be a beloved pet, living out his life at Foster's home.
This 10 yr old girl was reported missing on Sunday. After searching on West Side of Manchester for close to two hours, officers found her by the river. Officer Candice Thomas gave her a piggy back ride out of the woods and she was reunited with her mother. A happy ending.
It has been 15 years since Officer Michael Briggs was killed in the line of duty.
Every year Manchester officers gather by his gravesite to honor him.
Some worked with him, many did not, but his sacrifice is felt by everyone.

Today our Walking Patrol met an amazing young man. Javen, a 1st generation college grad from Manchester handed out FREE homemade food at Veterans Park.
It is his 24th birthday and he wanted to give back to the community.

19 y/o Daniel Zeron of Ashland has been arrested and charged with Criminal Threatening in connection with a social media post calling for criminal behavior and possible violence. The post referenced tipping police cars and graffiti.
Officers Baddoui and Labbe were so happy to be a part of this little boy's birthday! Shane is one of our biggest fans and he was so excited to have these officers visit him on his 5th birthday. Our officers say they aren't sure who enjoyed the visit more, Shane or them.
We have a new addition to our Mounted Unit! Meet Eddy, our new Comfort Pony! He is a Shetland pony and despite his small stature he is 20 years old! Eddy is all about meeting and greeting people, so sure to say hello.

Rest In Peace Officer Michael Briggs. It’s been 13 years since a great Officer was taken from us but we will never forget you or your sacrifice. Despite heavy rain, at least 60 officers attended a gravesite memorial today.
The MPD would like to thank the hundreds of people who came out tonight for a peaceful demonstration at Stark Park. A smaller group broke off after the vigil to march and protest and at this hour they remain. We ask that the group please disperse. The peaceful protest has ended.
Chief Allen Aldenberg was proud to present Ofc. Sean Munnelly w/the Life Saving Medal for helping a gunshot victim in April. Ofc. Munnelly applied a chest seal to the wound. This seal prevented further complications and ultimately, the victim survived.
Great work Ofc. Munnelly.
A child was locked in a vehicle, the keys inside & the engine not on. Ofc. Chad Tennis jumped into action. Using a lock out kit he got the child out in under a minute!!!
He attributes his skills to the countless times he’s had to do this when locking himself out of his cruiser.
With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to Valor. He is on to greener pastures, retiring from the MPD after 17 years of service as a police horse. Relax and have a great retirement.
The MPD is aware of social media posts regarding upcoming protests. We are closely monitoring all social media & we are working with our federal partners, the State EOC & our local counterparts. We take this seriously & will do everything that is needed to protect our community.

Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of NH State Police SSGT Jesse Sherrill, who was killed in a traffic accident early this morning. Our sympathies are also with the NH State Police during this difficult time.
As of 9:15 only 3 arrests were made in regards to the crowds in and around the SNHU arena. People have been very respectful before and during this event. The President has left the downtown.
Rest In Peace Staff Sgt Jesse Sherrill. Today Manchester PD joined agencies from around the state, lining the interstate to pay tribute to the fallen State Trooper. SSGT Sherrill was killed in a traffic accident Thursday. Today police escorted his body to a Dover funeral home.

The Manchester Police Dept regrets to announce the passing of K-9 Nero (retired). Nero was a 13y/o German Shepard who began her career at MPD in June 2007 w/ Sgt John Cunningham. She retired in 2015 and has lived with the Sgt ever since. RIP.

Manchester Police have located 80-year-old Leo Dion. He is safe and being evaluated by EMTs. Thank you to all the residents who helped by looking at their surveillance videos and checking their yards.

We say goodbye to another MPD family member.Mary Makris who has been with the Dept since 1988 is retiring. Mary has been an emergency police dispatcher, a records specialist, and an administrative assistant for patrol & detectives. Always upbeat and cheerful. She will be missed!

A final goodbye for retired Manchester Police Officer Donald Tanguay. He dedicated 20 yrs to the MPD before retiring in 1981. Today, Manchester officers led the procession from Lambert Funeral Home to the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen. RIP & thank you for your service.

A special send off for Manchester retired Officer Warren Olson. Today after 20 yrs of service, Ofc. Olson left the MPD for the final time. He was escorted home by the Traffic Unit he’d worked with for so long, Londonderry Police and NH State Police. Good Luck in all you do.
