I was thinking today about how I got started with this crazy research on blast fishing, and that brought me back to one of my very first dives in Sharm el-Sheikh in 2011.. I fell totally in love with diving and the underwater world. #projectblast #sharmelsheikh #blastfishing

Hi everyone, I went AWOL for a bit because my phone had a mishap. Not to worry, we gaffer-taped that sucker back together and I am back in the game! And we all learnt valuable lessons about taking backups for important communication devices for #fieldwork 😅

Kuni (firewood) is the most commonly used cooking fuel in most of the villages I surveyed. This is understandable but poses huge issues in terms of deforestation now and in the future #tanzania #environment

We did it! Final fisher survey for this phase completed, and Sia and I are still smiling 😉 thanks to the BMU and village leaders, Mtwara Rural Fisheries Office, and the fishers of Mgao. We’ll be back!…
