I am excited to share my latest article, which was co-authored with @CrystalWhetsto4 and published in @IAJournal_CH. In it, we delve into a feminist approach to cybersecurity that prioritizes human rights and inclusivity. Traditionally, cybersecurity has been viewed through a state-centric lens, often overshadowing the broader implications for human security. This article challenges the conventional narrative by incorporating insights from Feminist Security Studies (FSS) to highlight the intersectionality of cyber threats and the multifaceted nature of security. By applying Anne Runyan’s gendered lens, we uncover how cyber violence, including technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TF-GBV), disproportionately impacts marginalized communities around the world. Our approach emphasizes the need for a bottom-up framework that empowers ordinary people, moving away from militarized solutions to foster genuine global cooperation involving multiple stakeholders in cyberspace. Israeli police raided a well-known book store at the American Colony hotel in Jerusalem, arresting one of the owners and his nephew on “suspicion of selling books containing incitement.” The police posted a photo of a children’s coloring book to support their claim.

Reading the responses to Trump's Gaza proposal and the reactions to the released hostages' photos makes me lose hope in humanity. Where is our moral and intellectual consistency? We live in a time where people mistakenly believe that toxic nationalism, war hawks, dehumanization, ethnic cleansing, hostage taking, and tech bros can lead us to salvation.

Trump’s proposal to control Gaza appears more like a political statement rather than a concrete, executable plan. Given the logistical, political, and military challenges of such an endeavor, it seems unlikely that he has a detailed or viable strategy in place. However, his statements signal a broader ideological stance that aligns with hardline pro-Israel policies. A U.S. occupation would likely result in massive regional instability, intense resistance from Palestinian groups, and widespread condemnation from the international community. The forced expulsion of Gazans would be seen as a violation of international law and could amount to ethnic cleansing, leading to severe diplomatic consequences for the U.S. and Israel. Militarily, it would require a large deployment of U.S. troops, which could spark significant domestic and global opposition. Arab countries, particularly Egypt and Jordan—both close U.S. allies—have already condemned such proposals and rejected any plans to absorb more Palestinian refugees. Saudi Arabia has also firmly opposed any forced displacement of Palestinians, issuing a rare overnight statement rejecting the idea of transfer. Saudi has reiterated that it will not normalize relations with Israel—one of Trump’s key foreign policy goals—without the establishment of a Palestinian state that includes Gaza. Moreover, Trump’s rhetoric could embolden hardline factions on both sides, fueling further violence and making de-escalation even more challenging. By injecting such extreme proposals into the discourse, Trump risks not only derailing ceasefire negotiations but also exacerbating instability across the Middle East. Any forced removal of Gazans would be seen as a direct affront to Arab nations, further destabilizing diplomatic relations and potentially inciting broader regional unrest.
