Thank you for alerting us. The Manchester Grammar School condemns any form of racism. Any incident involving racism will be fully investigated and addressed by the School.
It is with great sadness that we have heard the tragic news that Debbie Makki, Yousef’s Makki’s mother, has sadly passed away in the early hours of this morning. Our thoughts go out to Debbie’s family and friends at this difficult time.
Today marks two years since we lost Yousef Makki, an incredibly bright, caring and popular pupil at MGS.
A tree planted in his memory stands proudly at the front of our school, and the thoughts of the entire MGS community remain with Yousef’s family.
Sam Fitzsimmons (2011-15) sadly passed away on Saturday morning surrounded by his family. His time here was characterised by his immense popularity with staff and pupils. Sam gave so much to MGS & Cambridge. He will be missed by all who were fortunate to know him.
Everyone at MGS is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Harry Bardsley. Harry was adored by everyone at MGS - boys, staff, parents and Old Mancs. He was a wonderful man and a true gentleman. The thoughts of everyone at MGS are with Harry's family.
What a lovely letter to receive from a former pupil, who came to MGS as a refugee on a scholarship in 1945, now offering to give something back and donate £2,500 towards the MGS Bursary Fund, which helps bright boys from modest backgrounds attend MGS

We are extremely pleased that the DFE allowed boys to come to MGS to sit our entrance exam in small groups over recent days. This was necessary as we have a high number of bursary candidates without access to technology at home for remote testing. Good luck to all applicants!

Greetings from a very snowy and wintery Owl's Nest, our own five-star hotel in the hills! We're sure all OMs have treasured memories of their experiences here.
During the lockdowns we have offered a full timetable of lessons for boys both learning at home and those in School. In large part, this is due to the phenomenal efforts of our Computer Services Department, Richard and Dean, who have built an entirely new IT infrastructure. (1/3)
Since Wednesday, we have completed 1,129 lateral flow tests on all Senior School boys, with no positive results. Thank you to the boys and their parents for their cooperation, and to our staff and medical dept who have worked so hard to carry out the tests and keep our boys safe.
