Was rewatching Goyo: The Boy General movie and I’m still impressed with the production’s efforts in keeping the battle scene fairly grounded in realism compared to other Asian movies.
Especially where it just shows troops firing at puffs of gun smoke at a far distance.

Shooting the Type 38 after a couple days of it being tossed around in mud and clouds of fine dust in an event.
Even with a dust cover, dust will always find its way in and messed with ejection in this case. Gives a reason as to why they cycled the action from the hip.
