Preks participated in the Schoolwide Buddy Reading event.@CampbellAPS We thanked the 4th graders in Mr. Drucker's class for choosing good books for preks and interacting with us while reading. @APS_EarlyChild

Preks talked about the people and places in our community. @CampbellAPS Each of them drew a building they liked and built a community together.@APS_EarlyChild

Preks recognized the differences between triangles and other shapes. @CampbellAPS They used sides and corners to create triangles of various shapes.@APS_EarlyChild

Preks practiced recognizing the beginning sounds of words. @CampbellAPS Some enjoyed using their knowledge of letter sounds to write and label words in the classroom. @APS_EarlyChild

Preks went on a walking field trip to Glencarlyn library.@CampbellAPS @APS_EarlyChild

The Preks read the story, The Lion and the Little Red Bird, and created a lion with a tail of their favorite color. @CampbellAPS They also talked about what the lions painted with their tails. @APS_EarlyChild

The Preks had great fun finding the Gingerbread Man using the clues that he left behind. @CampbellAPS Through that EL activity, they learned about the place of the school and met the people who work there. @APS_EarlyChild @Ms_Alsups_Class

Prek learned about a pattern. @CampbellAPS They enjoyed creating a story about a bear returning home using patterned rocks. @APS_EarlyChild

Rhyme Awareness: Preks recited Oh, A-Hunting We Will Go, and recognized rhymes.@CampbellAPS It was fun to use a Toobaloo whisper phone to hear the ending sounds. @APS_EarlyChild

The prek fall expedition learning about the community has begun. @CampbellAPS As a kick-off activity, they did a scavenger hunt, which helped to become aware of the surroundings around Campbell School. @APS_EarlyChild

“Pajama Mama” and the book bus were here at Campbell. @CampbellAPS Preks were excited to read the new books and grow their home library. @APS_EarlyChild

A pumpkin brought great joy to my class. @CampbellAPS Preks used their five senses to navigate the pumpkin and learned related words. The toasted pumpkin seeds were delicious! @APS_EarlyChild @CampbellOutside
