(nothing against Mick but the hype has been blown way, way out of proportion)
Mick Schumacher is the best WEC driver this season. Having not the strongest technique, he gives out one best race after another. Incredible overtaking, excellent work in traffic, pace like a metronome - all this is a Mick this year.

Screw the accident, Nolan Siegel can be fucking proud of that effort. Gave it his all with the odds stacked up against him, can't fault him for keeping his foot in it.
As painful as it is, he's got to pick himself back up because he can achieve still great things here. Hats off.

The F2 season opener is notorious for exposing the championship's well-documented engine disparities, and Martins was clearly handed the raw end of the deal.
Way off the pace, his miserable weekend was capped off with an engine failure in the Feature Race.

Still suffering from the lacklustre speed of Bahrain, Martins' terrific P4 qualifying effort amounted to nothing.
Squeezed into the wall by Hauger in the Sprint, before technical issues in the Feature meant he was over a second off the pace — out of the points.

For the first time all year, ART were at the sharp end. Martins capitalised.
Podium in the Sprint, then surging from 5th to 1st at the Feature Race start until an ill-timed safety car left him helpless against Antonelli's soft tyres. P2, another win gone.

I think disrespecting a driver on the radio in the heat of the moment is understandable, you can sometimes give in to your emotions.
What I really hate is that Canapino only instigates hate online — he didn't go and speak to Ilott, he didn't speak to Pourchaire.

Melbourne would be another weekend to forget, this time through his own doing. A spin in qualifying put him to the back of the grid for both races and into recovery mode.
Funnily enough, this would turn out to be possibly the sole blemish in Martins' season.

More mechanical gremlins. A brake issue forced the Frenchman to sit out the second half of qualifying, leaving him dead last.. again.
Still, a valiant recovery in the Feature Race helped him to P9 on a weekend where ART were perhaps the slowest (!) in the field.

Educate yourself before posting next time, maybe you won't set up your favourite driver that way 👍🏼
Leclerc is a supreme talent but Bahrain 2017 is not the most vivid proof of that.

Seven rounds into the season, Martins finally ‘enjoyed’ his first trouble-free weekend. Still, the result was 0 points — strangely off the pace of teammate O'Sullivan, with ART still nowhere to be seen at the front.

Having qualified on the front row, Victor's Sprint Race progress was halted when he got spun around by his own teammate. Three more points at least, down the drain.
ART's glaring race pace issues meant Martins could only muster 5th in the Feature Race.

Even if we put all his misfortunes to the side, ART's lacklustre speed and persistent tyre wear issues merge into an ungodly combination that is not suited for a title charge.

On a weekend where ART were off the pace again, Victor finally broke through to take his first win of the year in the Sprint.
His luck would end there, however, getting sandwiched at turn two on the opening lap the day after. His race would go no further.

The ‘no competition’ argument holds no value because Antonelli's rivals just haven't had the time to prove themselves.
A few years from now Barnard, Dunne, Camara, Bedrin, Stenshorne, Haverkort and Giusti will all be established racers with respectable careers.

Yeah he is good, but had basically no competition in F4 or FRECA and the only races he's won in F2 are when the title contenders ahead have had major issues, at least a couple of them from mechachrome.

A storming drive to 12th in just three laps was nullified with the Sprint being rained off, and Martins' weekend was capped off when he was unceremoniously taken out of the Feature Race.
