When the Great Calcutta Killing took place in Calcutta in 1946, Gandhiji asked Gopal Mukherjee, the protector of Hindus, to surrender whatever weapons he had, to which Veer Gopal Mukherjee replied, "Where were you when the Great Calcutta Killing was happening!! I will not surrender any of the weapons with which I have saved the honors of my mother and sister. Even if I protected them with a needle, I'll never surrender that needle." Kudos to this hero...
