We need to push this message strongly within our markets and our own people. That is, that Australia has one of the most SUSTAINABLE grain production systems in the world. This is important, not just to strengthen and grow our markets, but to defend our legitimate right to farm.

@cropmad We wanted an early April sowing option at Williams (due to logistics) this year so sowed winter wheat (Illabo). Unfortunately it didn’t germinate until 1 May. Haven’t harvested it yet. Looks pretty good but I feel not enough tillers to realise full season potential. TBA

@pbl1972 Good thought but: 1. already have a lot of oats in the system 2. risk of not making weight in that post code is real (due to frost and/or heat) 3. too much straw 4. we block crop for efficiency 5. they are itchy 🤣
