Hoorah Luciana! Spot on! Europe has its own story and path that is different from Silicon Valley but is also incredibly exciting. You have uniquely been an active driver of so much of its development in your incredible career. It is on all of us to keep pushing to follow yours and the other great contributors lead to make that story even better and share it with the world.

I am excited to share a bit of news. After an incredible 12 years with Sequoia, I have made the decision to start my own fund focused on the great founders of Europe. It has been a dream of mine to be an entrepreneur again and I am excited to build something specific for this region that I love. I am forever thankful to have been part of the best investment firm in the world and am so appreciative to everyone at Sequoia. I will have a period of transition where I will work as a Venture Partner and serve on Boards while I firm up the specifics of what is to come next. I couldn’t be more proud of the Sequoia presence here in Europe. I am excited to see the amazing things Luciana, Anas and the rest of the team will do next. I look forward to finding great ways to collaborate with them in my next adventure.

Bolt is one of the most insane stories in startups. 🥚 0 to €2M ARR in 18 months. 🚖 €10M ARR in the next 18 months. 🏎️ €100M ARR within the next 2 years. 🚀 €2BN ARR in the next few years. SF is a great place to build no doubt, but London is also a great place to build an AI company. London has incredible talent. It benefits from incredible universities. All of the best VC firms are here now. It is also one of the best places in the world to live. It’s easy to get to SF when you need, there are 10 direct flights a day!

Was asked today whether the founders of a startup need to be involved in the early GTM efforts. All of the founders I get to work with know my answer. Great hungry and ambitious founders are what make early companies great!
