A beautiful commemorative ceremony, respectfully remembering those who have passed away but contributed so greatly & will continue to do so into the future @ageingwithID In Gratitude, In Memory, and In Celebration ♥️
To celebrate International Day of Persons with Disabilities #IDPWD 2024, we gathered for a special commemoration ceremony at the Trinity College Dublin Chapel to honour those who have so generously contributed to the Intellectual Disability Supplement to the Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing (@IdsTilda) since its inception 15 years ago. Our chosen theme ‘In Gratitude, In Memory, and In Celebration' beautifully encapsulated the spirit of this event. It expressed our profound appreciation for the contributions of IDS-TILDA participants, our remembrance of their lives and legacies, and our celebration of the lasting impact of their generosity. While the future benefits of this work may not directly touch the participants we honoured yesterday, their invaluable contributions will shape a brighter future for generations of people with intellectual disability. Their legacy continues to inspire and inform our efforts to create a more inclusive and equitable society. #IDPWD
