Qld is facing possible blackouts tonight because units at THREE aging coal power stations are offline or busted, incl privately owned Gladstone & Milmerran and State-owned Callide. Unreliable coal and privatization have failed. Qld must aim for 100% publicly owned renewables.

The very fact that Andrew Forrest (or any one person) has enough money to give away $70 million on a whim shows how much trouble we’re in. Rule by the 1% and mining CEOs has caused the climate crisis. Make big coal companies pay for the cleanup.

Outraged and ashamed this morning. But this isn't the end. Sending support and solidarity to W&J warriors rightfully camping on their lands. And to all First Nations people fighting for justice and truth, every single day on this stolen land. Always was, always will be. 🖤💛❤️

In response to my question, Jackie Trad REFUSES to agree to release the final royalty holiday deal with Adani which is due on 30 September 2019. Claims the deal would be "commercial in confidence". Free coal, free groundwater, no transparence. You really couldn't make this up.

BREAKING: 20 minutes before deadline, the Labor State gov't has deferred finalising the Adani royalties agreement. Under Labor & the LNP, if you're a coal billionaire you get special deals and as much time as you need, but if you're a peaceful protester you get locked up.

On Close the Gap Day, Labor & LNP teamed up to pass a bill that: - Suspends Qld's Human Rights Act - Criminalises technical breach of bail for children - Expands circumstances where children are locked up pre-trial ... in a state where 64% of children in prison are Indigenous.

I am about to move this motion, calling on the Qld Government to stop funding the manufacture of weapons parts used by Israel in its horrific attacks on Gaza. Qld Labor has gone out of its way to avoid even talking about Palestine for months. Let's see how they respond.

This is pathetic. My Bill to #RaisetheAge is about to be debated and not a single Qld Labor MP, other than the responding AG, will speak on it. These cowards don't even have the guts to get up and explain why they think 10 year olds belong in prison 😡

Make the flu vaccine free. This should be an absolute no-brainer.

I've called on the Health Minister to make the flu vaccine available free of charge to all Australians as part of the response to COVID-19. This will keep more people healthy and lessen the burden on our health system. #auspol #COVID19Aus

Qld Labor has approved Adani's groundwater management plan. But make no mistake: this is not the end. Labor's internal meltdown & capitulation to coal billionaires won't make an entire movement of people disappear... we're just getting started.

Just a couple of “extremists” ready to march down Queen St at 8am to defend their right to peaceful protest
