Samata Khatoon is the Mayor of Camden for 2024-25. The Mayor has chosen two charities - @NHyouthcentre and @SceneandHeardUK – to improve the lives of young people in Camden.

The Mayor remarked, "We’re grateful as we remember the millions of victims and survivors of the Holocaust and genocides around the world. In Camden, we’re proud to come together as diverse communities to reflect on this day and learn how to build a better future together."

On 30 Jan, the Mayor paid floral tribute at the Mahatma Gandhi statue on his 77th death anniversary in Tavistock Square honouring his legacy of peace, truth, & non-violence. #MahatmaGandhi has been the inspiration for non-violent movements for civil rights & social change.

Yesterday marked 37 years since the Kings Cross station fire I joined @LondonFire @TfL staff & others to remember the 31 people who died, over 100 who were injured, & those who continue to suffer, at the memorial clock & plaque in memory of firefighter Colin Townsley
