On a day of terrible news, this is a painful blow. I was fortunate to meet Mousa several times - always so generous and forthcoming. He spoke to me at length for my book on the communities of Jerusalem’s Old City. I will miss him. Sad condolences to family and friends
I’m gutted, my cousin Mousa Qous died, while his beloved daughter, Shadin, languishes unjustifiably in an Israeli torture center dungeon. Our Afro-Palestinian community mourns the tragic loss of a remarkable leader, a brilliant journalist and a cherished mentor.

We – Mahmoud and Ahmad's friends and colleagues in the UK – are in touch with the family. We have no further news. This is an entirely inexcusable and illegitimate act
Today Israeli undercover forces raided both branches of the Educational Bookshop, a well-respected Palestinian institution in Jerusalem. After an hour search, they confiscated English and Arabic books, and detained the owners Ahmad Muna and Mahmoud Muna.

Many LGB folks (and others) think they’re safe because this will stop at TQI+ and the TQI+ people aren’t like them anyway and don’t matter as much as they do. Others thought the same, right up until the moment they stepped down from the train onto the platform at Auschwitz
The State Department website has removed “TQI+” from its section on travel advice for LGBTQI+ travelers — now just “LGB.”

RT @AssalRad: Just look at the difference. Russia wipes out Ukrainian family, Palestinians mysteriously lose their family.

I’m living in this weird limbo where it is common knowledge at this point among academics that there’s been a plagiarism accusation against Judge Sebutinde at the ICJ, but the broader public has no idea because Western mainstream media has not reported on it
