To put an end to the rhetoric that eCommerce is dying:
FedEx's earnings tonight ( $FDX) reveal their Home Delivery segment (i.e. eCommerce) **increased** 3% to 3,912 MM daily pieces.
That's 165K incremental DAILY pieces!
Yes there are headwinds all around, but things are OK!

I regularly get leads that are looking to find a 3PL "within a week".
This is a key reason why "everyone hates their 3PL".
Many treat finding a 3PL like finding a hotel for your weekend getaway. It's not. It's more akin to finding your spouse.

Just returned from 48 hours in Dallas and I think it wins for most dense warehousing region. On a 1 mile drive around DFW I managed to see almost every established 3PL I've ever heard of, every venture-backed 3PL, and every self-fulfilling eCommerce brand.

Greatly concerned for Ecomm delivery in Q4.
UPS announced avg daily volume increased 23% ➡️ 21 MM.
Q4 '19 UPS avg daily volume of 23MM (+8% yoy).
So take 23MM, add +8% (seasonal), and another 23% ➡️ 28MM. Conservative! UPS can't possibly handle.
Bottleneck will be drivers.

Shopify out with Q3 earnings. A couple highlights:
* GMV +11% to $46.2 billion. eComm apparently is **NOT** dying!
* Operating loss was $345 MM --> 25% of revenue, vs a loss of $4.1 MM a year ago.

UPS confirmed this morning via Q3 earnings that FedEx's problems are its own! $UPS is humming.
Domestic volumes down 1.5% YOY, while revenue was up 8.2% --> +1% margin. FDX had + 6.3% revenue but -0.2% margins.
Seems apparent that UPS is taking market share from $FDX.
