Replays gone. What the Premier League wants, the Premier League gets.
Tottenham and injury-ravaged Newcastle absolutely fine to jet off to Australia for a friendly three days after the season though 🙄
The FA and The
@premierleague
have reached an agreement to strengthen the
#EmiratesFACup
format and increase support for grassroots football.

What a day.
Owen Oyston is no longer in control of Blackpool Football Club. As I understand it, once the paperwork is completed receivership is effective immediately. That could be as soon as tomorrow and a new board will then be put in place.
Next home game is February 23rd...
In an interview with Sky Sports, Blackpool's Jake Daniels has revealed he’s gay.
The 17-year-old becomes the only openly gay male professional in Britain.
Incredibly brave.
It's off.
Understand Cameron Brannagan was in the North West today to finalise a deal. But he's since travelled back to Oxford late this evening to sign a new contract instead.
I'll say it again, you couldn't write it.
Clearly disappointed with my Lincoln hat on, but Blackpool deserved this - both today and over the season. Privileged to have covered it.
Thanks for all the nice comments too. Just a shame one idiot ran to the press box to celebrate in my face at FT. But emotions get to us all!
Delighted to be named Sports Journalist of the Year at the
#O2MediaAwards2019
in recognition of my coverage of Blackpool's momentous, historic year.
Congrats to
@chrishallitv
as well!
After seven years and 342 competitive games, I'll be moving on from
@The_Gazette
at the end of the month.
It's been an absolute pleasure reporting on this fine football club.
A few words 👇
"It is with a heavy heart that this situation has been forced upon us", says EFL executive chair Debbie Jevans.
This coming from the organisation that asked for no proof of funds from Steve Dale & permitted him to own a club despite being involved in the liquidation of 43 firms.
FT: Blackpool 3-1 Peterborough
Seasiders complete the double over Posh to climb into the play-offs for the first time this season. Ten unbeaten. Not lost at home since October. Seven first-team players out injured.
Absolutely magnificent.
EXCLUSIVE: Blackpool have missed out on a move for Ellis Simms.
The club made a big push to re-sign the striker, with all terms being agreed with Everton. But Simms has opted to join Sunderland instead.
BREAKING: Marvin Ekpiteta has signed a new two-year contract.
The centre-back's deal was due to expire at the end of the season (albeit with an option).
Huge news.
I'm a writer, not a talker, so that was terrifying speaking on stage to a room full of footballers and VIPs. But I'm delighted to have won the Football Journalist of the Year award at
#NWFA2018
, which I've dedicated to the late, great Jimmy Armfield.
Happy New Year, Seasiders. Thanks for following my coverage these past 12 months, it’s been a strange old year. Hope to see you back at Bloomfield Road some time soon 🍊
Gary Madine has just provided the best post-match interview I've ever seen. Not content with being the match-winner, he's also claiming Peterborough's goal came off his head.
He's also shown us a WhatsApp picture of Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke with his and Jerry Yates' heads on.
FT: Oxford 0-3 Blackpool
Only half-time in the tie, but wow. Just wow. Another Neil Critchley tactical masterclass.
Friday night promises to be special.
Blackpool Supporters' Trust got in touch to see if they could pen a special column to share their solidarity with Derby, who lent their support for the Seasiders during the boycott years.
Classy touch.
Finally back home with this one after a taxing few days in hospital. He’s still not 100% but he’s a whole lot better than he was when he was admitted on Saturday night.
Thanks for all the well wishes. Greatly appreciated.
You’ll be glad to know I’m off this week, as that normally means a flurry of transfer activity.
As for me, I’m currently spending my time off in hospital with this poorly little man 😔
Luke Garbutt has become the second out-of-contract player to commit his future to the club. The left-back has agreed a two-year deal plus an option to extend.
Good piece of business.
BREAKING: Blackpool FC have revealed historic plans for a 100-acre, seven-pitch training ground to be built on Garstang Road, bordered by the Grange Park Estate and Baines School.
Contracts have been exchanged and a planning application will be submitted soon.
Irrespective of this evening's result, biggest winner from today has to be NAPM fans. Boycott holding firm against one of the biggest clubs in the world and their message getting out to a national audience.
"No disrespect to Blackpool, but it's a typical game between a reserve team and a first team", according to Phil Thompson.
Alisson, Matip, Milner, Fabinho, Keita, Mane, Firmino and Salah all playing for Liverpool...
Some sad news to report tonight.
Cyril Robinson, the last surviving member of Blackpool's FA Cup winning squad in 1953, has died at the age of 90.
Thoughts go out to his family.
Leicester’s Kelechi Iheanacho has been subbed off in today's cup final without scoring, meaning Gary Madine finishes the season as the FA Cup's joint top goalscorer.
Neil Critchley reveals Daniel Gretarsson would have been available today, but his partner gave birth to a baby girl yesterday.
Congrats
@danielgretarss
!
"From the first day I left until yesterday, I got a message every day from a Blackpool fan or some of the players. You really do notice the love and it makes you feel so good. It made it a no-brainer to come back" 🍊
We've been allocated another 611 tickets for our trip to Blackpool, taking our total to 3,926 🐏🏖️
They'll be available to season ticket holders from 10am on Monday, and on general sale 24 hours later! ⏰

Blackpool have finally confirmed the signing of Blackburn Rovers striker Joe Nuttall for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old has signed a three-year deal with the option to extend by a further 12 months. Some sign of intent that.
FT: Oxford 0-2 Blackpool
Big, big win, Pool’s first at the Kassam in 21 years. Pool claim four straight away victories for the first time since 2007. Unbeaten in nine. Three points off the play-offs with FOUR games in hand. Into the top 10 for the first time since September.
You’ll be glad to know I’m off this week, as that normally means a flurry of transfer activity.
As for me, I’m currently spending my time off in hospital with this poorly little man 😔
Blackpool FC announce they will donate all revenue from home ticket sales for this weekend's game against Charlton Athletic to Trinity Hospice, which provided care for Jimmy Armfield in his last days.
Lewie Coyle has just made a surprise visit to St George's School to apologise to ball boy Connor Turner, along with Nathan Delfouneso, Sullay Kaikai & Wes Burns.
Coyle has bought him a pair of tangerine boots while Blackpool also presented him with a signed shirt.
