Excited to introduce Icon, The First AI Admaker. Weโre backed by Peter Thielโs Founders Fund & execs of frontier AI labs like OpenAI, Pika, & Cognition. Icon ( is like ChatGPT + CapCut, but for making winning ads with AI in minutes. How it works: 1. Icon looks at your video library & tags scenes (e.g. "close-up," "unboxing"). These scenes become reusable clips used as lego blocks for making ads. 2. Prompt Iconโs AdGPT to generate scripts focused on specific angles & audiences. 3. Icon finds perfectly matching clips for every script scene & generates an ad that is 80-99% complete. 4. Make edits with our CapCut-like video editor until you're happy. 3-person creative teams make 30 ads per month. With Icon, they make 300. We co-built Icon with $100M+ revenue brands like Ridge, Jones Road, Immi, Backbone, & MUD\WTR to solve big pain-points: 1. Making lots of ads is extremely painful. Icon helps you automate the tedious parts of scriptwriting, scene matching, video editing, audience research, UGC creation, & more. 2. AI-generated ads look like trash. Icon remixes your existing footage into new ads, matching your production quality & maintaining brand aesthetics. 3. Existing solutions charge $2K-$30K/month for: ๐ Competitor ad spying & cloning ๐ Creative analytics ๐น Custom & stock avatars for AI UGC ๐ฅ Audience research ๐ Video storage & tagging Icon does scriptwriting & video editing on top of everything above for just $999/year (their margin is our opportunity ๐). If youโve made it this far, we have a surprise for you ๐๐ป

@chrislaupama @bryantchou Claude is my goto for all-the-things. I love artifacts, and how it decides when to use them. ChatGPT Canvas requires me to tell it when to use it. I also prefer the tone of voice compared to o1. Its friendly and collaborative, whereas o1 is not in the mood for a conversation ๐

@mckaywrigley What would u suggest someone focus on today if they wanted to start a new side project? In the past, my focus has been to leverage AI to do obvious things like generate web sites but, to really embrace AI, loftier ideas are necessary.

@imkylelambert I think its funny. From about ~2005 on, it was pretty rare to walk into an office and be greeted by engineers. Typically you'd walk in with your headphones on, they'd have their headphones on, you'd sit down in your open plan office, open chat and greet those ur sitting amongst.

@curiouslychase OT, but my biggest gripe is having to continually pass the entire message history every request to any of the APIs. Privacy aside, it would be much more efficient for everyone if we could just pass the latest message and have the state managed by the APIs.

@curiouslychase @swyx Fairly loose xml works well. I think it works better on Claude than OpenAI models. Iโve also found using the format u want back works well too. Iโm playing with markdown for input and output and the savings on tokens compared to JSON is huge.

@_dylanga @imkylelambert I didn't think paid influencers... (Australia is known for having a Big 'Everything'.. there is a Big Pineapple, Big Prawn, Big Merino, Big Guitar, and yes, Big Banana)

@MikeLyngaas @midjourney to be fair, u could only generate images via Discord until recently. The web version is new! So even more segmented ๐คช
