Like men are not as complicated as y'all like to make them seem. They're generally aware of how they're treating you and making you feel. They know pretty early on if they want you to be their girlfriend. Take mixed signals and inconsistency and hesitation as a "no" and move on.

World crumble around when you go through bad shit as kid.
I hate when people dismiss children's mental health issues as being trivial. Some children have already been through significant trauma, abuse, grief and have overcome obstacles that some adults don't face until middle age. It shows a deep misunderstanding of life.

Parents can give lifetime trauma.
The older you get, the more you start to see your parents as PEOPLE and not your PARENTS and the mommy/daddy goggles fall off. You no longer feel like they can do no wrong, you start noticing their abusive/toxic traits. The realization can be so overwhelming.

having toxic parents or a toxic family is way more challenging than those with relatively functional families can even begin to imagine. Nothing is ever a simple conversation, & almost everything is riddled with passive aggression, subliminals, & trauma.

healing is weird. some days you're okay and you're doing just fine. other days it still hurts like it's fresh. it's a process with no definitive time frame. you just have to keep going and know that when all is said and done, you're going to be okay.

Having anxiety & depression is like being scared and tired of the same time. It's the fear of failure, but no urge to be productive. It's wanting friends but hate socializing. It's wanting to be alone but not wanting to be lonely. It feels everything at once so it's like you numb.

Your mental health is more important than your career, money, other people's opinions, that event you said you would attend, your partners mood and your families wishes, combined. If taking care of yourself means letting someone down, then let someone down.

A lot of parents want to see their own kids endure the suffering that they experienced during their childhood because itβs what they believe is normal treatment. They believe the mistreatment they experienced as a child is what every child should experience because their parents.
