We have been sharing the news about our new Primary School, and here is a very special capture of our Primary pupils and their families sharing first reactions on their very first day back in September:

Last week Mary Hare Primary pupils and staff enjoyed taking part in the NSPCC Number Day! They had fun with lots of number-related activities and the pupils also invited their families to play number games with them and to buy their homemade cakes to raise money for the NSPCC.

We're looking forward to welcoming lots of families to our Year 7 Entry Information Day on Thursday 27 February. This event is ideal for families with a deaf child in Year 4 or 5 who are now starting to think about their options for Secondary School:

We are looking for a part time Marketing Assistant to play a supportive role in the promotion of Mary Hare. This includes generating positive news stories, supporting events and assisting with marketing materials. Closing date is Sun 23 Feb:

Last week our Year 9s visited the Natural History Museum. They explored the museum but also spent time in workshops looking at the use of Maths in Science.  Students looked at how different animals adapt to their environments, examined fossils and measured a dinosaur footprint.

Recently in our lunchtime Craft Club in our Primary School, pupils have been making space helmets as part of learning about Space this term. 🧑‍🚀🌍

Next Friday (7th Feb) will be our next #LittleHares session. This month's theme is Music Therapy. These free sessions are suitable for parents with a deaf baby or toddler aged 3 and under:: Little Hares is supported by the National Lottery Community Fund.

In Art this term, some of our Year 9 students have been working on their clay pots, inspired by the work of John Maltby. They have made the pots themselves using the slab building technique and have been decorating them using coloured slips.

We are seeking two Housekeepers to join our team. Positions are available for 15 hrs p/w and 30 hrs p/w. You will be working as part of team to perform a variety of regular and one-off cleaning tasks to ensure the school is presented to a high standard:

Mon 5 May: Our Open Day is a big date in our school calendar as we showcase everything we offer deaf young people. Whether you are looking for a Primary, Secondary or a Sixth Form place, our Open Day is a fantastic opportunity to see us in action:

We are delighted to be part of this year's GENerate exhibition at @TheBaseGreenham this January! It is a fantastic opportunity for our students' to have their artwork shown in a professional setting. The exhibition will be open from 10 - 26 January.

Kick start the New Year with our Family Reels Party. Held at the Hermitage Village Hall, this event for the family will be raising money for the Ivan Tucker Bursary. No experience is necessary. Tickets £20. Find out more:

As we look ahead to our Christmas break, we come together as a whole school to enjoy a festive lunch. Superbly hosted by our Sixth Formers, and huge thanks to the Catering team for the delicious feast of food. #MerryChristmas 🎄

A few students have been busy making gingerbread cookies! This session was led by our Speech and Language team as a fun way for the students to practice different types of vocabulary by following a recipe.

This lunchtime, the students enjoyed some festive cake decorating, organised by the Wellbeing team!

We are extremely grateful that the Mary Hare Foundation is one of the benefiting charities again at this year's Yattendon Santa Dash! Tickets are now sold out - fingers crossed for some good weather and we hope everyone has a fabulous time running through the Christmas trees.
